Of course I'd rather have a better Imagination ride than none and bring also Dreamfinder!

If they close the ride they'll probably be able to sell even more Figment merchandise. It'll be more nostalgic.

Disney is nothing if not capable of monetizing nostalgia.

I'd still much rather the character be represented in the park's attractions lineup than just a gift shop somewhere.

When Marvel published a Dreamfinder-centric comic book, I thought that might foreshadow the character returning to the park, but so far there's no sign of his return. I'd still like to see him come back.

I think the first couple issues sold pretty well, because they had to have a second printing. Then they did do a second mini-series entirely. I only read the first one, it was fun. Not sure why it didn't become a monthly title, maybe sales dropped off.

Figment and Imagination have always been one of my favorite Disney characters and rides. Getting rid of it would seem very typical of modern Disney. There's something ironic about them closing a ride about the imagination...

Or it could secretly then be "Parking Lot - The Ride" or is that what a portion of Test Track is? ;)

Either way, if it is Guardians; I am expecting that this will turn out with Universal/Comcast issuing a lawsuit.

That's a huge chunk of land. They're not thinking of a whole new themed land are they? Or an outdoors rollercoaster... no. It's not Seaworld.

I don't think they would move the canal to expand the parking lot.

If i'm not mistaken, it was originally reported that the Guardians would've had a form of a mini-land, per say.

That permit makes it look like it will be both a parking lot and a new attraction. I think between the two ponds pictured is a new lot, and beneath the bottom lot of the new attraction.

So the Internet says it's site prep. For a new show building. That is possibly going to be built for a new Energy location attraction.

But that isn't finalized so they're just moving stuff around as prep.

All we can learn from this is the canal is being filled in to extend back of house behind energy, and new drainage ponds are being added to compensate.

But, that's something. And hopefully exciting times are ahead for Epcot. For better or worse, it may at least be exciting.

I wonder if Universal/Disney have settled on an agreement behind doors.
