Sorry if this has already been answered, but I don't have time to go back and look right now: When is the MTV movie awards this year? I haven't found it on TiVo yet.

(EDIT-- Nevermind. I found it. It's tonight. Had to look under 2010, not MTV. Duh.)

That sucks... but I guess I made a good call? Well, not really true... I was debating whether to go or not, but I never really decided... I guess my actions decided. Even if they were letting GP in I would still be too late for the usual 10am cut off... I dragged on doing nothing, and even if I headed out right this second I have a ride of approximately 40 minutes, plus whatever it takes from parking garage to the WWoHP gate (probably at least 15 minutes)... I'd be too late... Maybe next weekend? I need to plan better and get there early.

I used to watch MTV, but now it's all crap. I always watch the award shows though, so I'll be watching--if only for the HBP nominations and the clip. I'm VERY excited for the clip.
And for the record, if the award for Global Superstar goes to anyone but Johnny Depp, there's something terrible wrong in this world. I'm a mild fan of Twilight (mostly the books, though they are obviously not wonderful literature), but if Rob Pattinson/Kristen Stewart/Taylor Lautner win over JD...that is just WRONG. Dan Radcliffe is up for it too. I won't be as mad if he wins, but if any Twilight actors wins, that's BS. They can't act for anything, more so Stewart and Pattinson, but compared to JD?
Okay, OT ranting done.
Can't wait for the special tonight and the clip :D

Prepare yourself... Twilight will probably win everything they're nominated for... Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be that way... and even being a mild Twilight fan myself (read all the books, watched all the movies)... I want Potter to win everything, but Twilight is the "cool thing" right now... and MTV and their viewers are all about the "cool" of "right now," which isn't always the most interesting and worthwhile stuff, but it's whatthey go for.
MTV totally lost my interest and respect when they stopped being about music. I mean come on... MTV... MUSIC television... whatever...

So packers fan, any luck getting in yet? I'm hoping you get in!

Crap... that is bad... I guess they must have had many hotel guests going today. Did you stand it out by the gate? And not even a small window of time for GP to enter?

Another FJ breakdown today is what I heard. But it's after 10 and it seems the rides are closed now, so yeah no GP today.

I wonder if they will ever have full-day softs… They should, at least for these last two weeks before GO, but now is such a bad time for softs because it’s summer, all kids get off school, tourists abound… it wouldn't be a good "soft" opening at all... all of Orlando will be SO packed! Thing is, they still need to get realistic training for lunch and dinner service in 3B, not just mock drills for service. Plus they need to try having stores open all day long and make sure that all SFX work at night. They must do this AND get GP feedback on all of it. So, I guess they have to eventually open the WWoHP for the rest of day, but how long will Universal drag out this strategy of morning-only softs?

I agree. They need at least one all-day soft. They best do it during this next week, probably Monday-Wednesday (school lets out for locals on Wednesday...so even if they do pull an all-day, I won't be able to go :( Oh well. ) If they don't, it'll be too overwhelming.

making of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. Set your TiVo's if you won't be able to catch it at 7pm.

I don't see anything wrong with Harry Potter things being sold at Universal stores.

Come back and complain when they're selling wizard robes at Marvel Superhero Island.

LOL! Thats like yesterday - seeing Marvel Comics merch being sold inside Mouse Gear at Epcot: they now have one full display. Kind of un-nerving to say the least....but I guess not exactly unexpected.

Has anyone checked to see if they are still selling the Hero wands at the Universal store on Citiwalk, or the main gift shop in Studios? I can verify that all three main gift shops DID have some of the hero wands on Wed, but noticed on Fri that Traders had pulled all the wands in favor of some other merch...but I havent heard if anyone has checked status of the wands in the other two shops yet.

Just got back to the house, oh man I am not having any luck getting in to this thing. Guy told me that while they didn't have a lot of hotel guest in there this morning they decided not to open it to the public because of "the ride" going down earlier this morning. I asked him about the next few days and he told me its 50/50 everyday from now until June 18th. I wonder what happened at FJ?

They HAVE to have a full day of softs soon, unless they are 100% confident of being able to handle every aspect of the area with full on surges of crowds, they know things work, they just dont know how well their subtle crowd control references will work and if they can handle 100% capacity,

With the FJ having alot of downtime in the couple of hours it operates it doesn't look good, they need to change routines before/during softs to make sure they are 100% for full launch on press day :)

Well, I'm going for round 2 tomorrow. This time I'm getting there early and just until the news today I thought my chances were relatively higher than 50/50 to ride. But, that's what would make it even sweeter going there and being let in when it isn't forsure. They'll have the whole day to get the thing working properly for tomorrow..

Was in line for FJ at 8:20, then came the announcement that it wasnt operational and might be out of operation for an extended period of time. Waited in line for about 10 more minutes then went to ride the other rides, get butterbeer, and do olivanders. After that i went back to FJ and did single riders twice which was a walk-on both times.

Out of interest has anyone else done the WWOHP survey which is near the exit of WWOHP? If we get enough people to tell them to add to the DC line, maybe they will do it!
