Ok, I am outta here. I will not be returning to OU as the HP construction show is over. The park is open and is what it is. Have fun all. It has been a great deal of fun up until the opening and now it has become a travel website which ain't my thing. No harm done, just not me. So, thanks for the experience over the past year. I really mean it. But now I must leave and move onto other places.

A very few of you have my contact info and have been invited to stay in touch. Please do.

Well Teebin, even though I didn't really talk to you that much through the forums, you gave us all a great deal of information and without you it wouldn't have been the same. Who knows, maybe I'll see you on another forum somewhere on the web. Overall, thanks so much because you played a huge role in this experience for me! Thank you!

Speaking of buying Teebin some booze, on a lighter note I wanted to say that I am planning to have an IOA pub crawl. You start with a Triple Threat of Extinction at the Watering Hole, hit up a Potion of the Gods at Mythos, and then tie a few on over at the Hog's Head until Aberforth kicks my ass to the magical curb!

And then to top it all off, we all take a ride on Dragon Challenge!

But some can be very sweet and fun at the same time. There are definitely drastic groups of HP fans.
There are the dedicated fans who will dress up and just enjoy it without disturbing other people...and then there are the crazies.
Don't get me wrong--I'm a HUGE fan. I dressed up as a Hogwarts student last year for Halloween, I've read the books front and back about six times each, I know the movies by heart...but I'd never butt in front of younger kids to get a picture with the Frog Choir...
It's like Twilight. There are the normal, obsessed fans...and then there are the ones who ask Rob Pattinson to bite their necks. Creepy.

I admired the guys outfit and that he was a huge fan. The only thing I thought was inappropriate was he thought he should be First and given right away for everything. My eldest daughter said maybe he was with Slytherin but I think he might have had a Griffendore robe. My eldest 2 are in 20 and 22 and they are HUGE Potter fans! My son, 22, received a lightning bolt scar when he was 3 yrs old (well before the books came out). All three of my children have waited in line for the Movies and dressed up each time. My eldest two had me waiting in lines with them for the book releases. Still, they would never have thought to push aside children at the WWOHP.

I paid a great deal to pull off this trip for my children but if they would have behaived like that I would have marched them right out of IOA!

--- Update ---

Frogki said:
I remember that! I was a bit disappointed, but not because they were young, I would never discredit a child being a fan due to age, however, these two seemed to think that because they were wearing HP shirts (only one was wearing a HP shirt). They didn't know anything about the books. They called Coconut Candy in a candy shop love potion, and I know why they called it love potion: it was pink. I'm glad they got to go, but I thought a truer fan could have been chosen. I'm happy though...

While waiting outside of the FJ exit I met up with a large family. There were two children younger than my 11 yr old and I have to say I was IMPRESSED about their knowledge! From our conversation I realized they had read all the books but the last 2 and saw all the movies thus far. I understand why their parents didn't want them to read the last two. These kids wanted answers though after seeing the Half Blood Prince. Not knowing why their parents didn't let them read that book I didn't go in to details and prevented my children from giving specific answeres. These two children were extremely thrilled and actually Believed they were in the same place as in the books and movies. I made a mistake when they asked me where Hermione was and said she was away at school and could not attend the opening. To this they said "But her school is right here." We were standing next to Hogwarts castle and they had not yet been inside. After a few pokes to my ribs by my eldest daughter I realized what I had said and then covered it up with something about she was away teaching at a school, wizarding school as she is so knowledgable. It was a real Treat to chat with these two children.

Then if the letters are exactly the same they are built into the rubber mats used to stamp the concrete. Would be interesting to know why and what purpose it serves. Perhaps only Valley Crest knows why they are there.

At first I thought it was an impression of brick but it looks so well done that it seems like real brick laid in, not a facade. How do they pull off the differences in the concrete between the bricks not being the same? In a facade pre-made there would be uniformed similaries but I saw none. Some of the brick imprinted letters were upside down and some were right side up as we walked along. The letters appeared about every 14 feet or so and some were as close as three feet but in different directions. The bricks are very smoothed over like coblestone streets but even smoother than that. If they are individually laid facades they were tumbled greatly before placement. You were the first person who popped in to my mind when I saw this, the only person I knew who would eventually find out what the meaning is.

Sorry to say it Colleen, but it looks like Teebin has left the building for good. You might try PMing him though!

...and like the wind, he is gone. You know, I can't imagine pre-WW without Teebin. When we were all in the dark speculating about what's to come, he was the light that guided us in the right direction. And now that the Wizarding World is open, his mission is complete. He's leaving, but his spirit stays with us. He's somewhere else now, helping some other theme park forum with something new opening up in their parks.

RIP Teebin

I hate that he said he is leaving. Especially since there is that one question I have about the bricks. However, I do understand. When you are in the business of building something you are very proud of what you built then you are moved on to another project. Sad to leave the project you just finished but whatelse is there to do but pass buy it and say "I was part of that" and move on to the next big thing. I hope he comes back and lets us know what the letters on the bricks means! And to stop by and say hello to all of us. He did make a Great Impression on us. Heck I even loaded that photo of the bricks before sending any to my family who were anxiously waiting (several phone calls) for vacation photos. Just because I thought he would understand the impact of the WWOHP better than my own siblings. ha!

Anyone going to the park today? I am planning on going tonight. It'd be helpful to get updates on the line to get into the WW.

Why do you assume there will be a rehab? This is still very early, it's just opened officialy for gosh sake! They are probably still tweaking it, and if the need arises for a rehab, we will deal with it. But it is WAYYY too early to start asking when a possible rehab could happen...

HAHA, if that ain't the God's honest truth! Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy during the Halloween celebration at Disneyland has about 20 different signs along the queue as well as a notice on the park map about how it is scarier and darker than the regular Space Mountain and not recommended for anyone under the age of 13. As I'm walking out the exit, I hear one of them "normal theme park visitors" b*tching out an attendant about how inappropriate the ride was and how much it scared her 8 year old. I wanted to tell her 8 is less than 13 lady. The HP people may be strange, but at least I can handle their strangeness.

I have seen parents argue with the attendant to get their child on a ride they are too short for, they would also be the first one to sue the park if something happened to their child on the ride. Luckily the attendants have never let them on.

I also love the people that go into a single rider line that is clearly posted, where TMs stop and say single rider, that have signs throughout the lines saying you will be split up, and sometimes TMs even scream throughout the line you will be split up, but when they get to the front of the line they argue or when the TM says 1 in line 6, all 10 of them go to line 6 :) I tend to always get in back of people like that...sigh.

I always says tourist loose their brain when they get on the plane and don't get it back until they get on the plane to leave Orlando :)
