Last week, Friday, FJ had a 60 minute wait, Ollivanders was long, and everything else was basically walk-on. However there is a noticeable difference between the density of the crowd inside the WW and outside in the rest of the park.

And even more of a difference in the Studios and Lost Continent alone.

We are thinking of going next year, partly to visit my sister and partly to visit IOA and Sea World (although sucks how much it will cost to go to those two individually). This will likely be the last time we are able to go in a few years. We did go just days after WWOHP opened (by accident more than anything!) and found the heat and sheer number of people almost unbearable! On trying to decide when to go next year, would you say end half of September to be a good choice, avoiding summer crowds and HHN crowds?

The Today Show (NBC) will be broadcasting from the WW in early November... perhaps the 7-11th

Should be fine but could still be pretty hot.... best bet would be mid Oct. First week of Nov, Dec. Last week of Jan, all of Feb and early March.

That's the week before the big Potter Film celebration(starts on the 11th). Could have to do with that

Ok, nobody really checks the merch thread, so I'll re-post this here.

Exploding Bon-Bons. Anybody try 'em?

Are these a new product or have they been around since the beginning? Do they really explode? The packaging reminds me of Toblerone for some reason. Probably just the colors.

They're a new product and I don't think anyone has tried them yet.

Wow lol! Coincidentally, without even reading about the Exploding Bonbons, I actually went to Universal earlier and came across them speaking to some store attendants. I liked them and I just posted about them on the merch thread. Also on the merch thread I posted another very cool piece of news that I learned about today. There's a special edition Chocolate Frog coming, with a Dumbledore card! Supposedly it will be in before the end of the year, I'm guessing to coincide with the event going on next month or maybe Christmas :D I'm excited to add it to my collection! :D

So when I was at Universal earlier, I came across some construction in the Wizarding World. Anyone know what's going on here? Maybe new queue for Ollivander's and re-routing the exit of Dragon Challenge? That's my best guess... Anyone got any info on it?

That is not intended as temporary construction... they are extending a wall with rebar and concrete. I hope Felipe is correct that it may be for Olivander's queue as that Neep/Oli area is one of the greatest disasters of theme park crowd control; a good ole cluster-youknowwhat.

i havent gotten a passholder email about november yet, but i saw on the site that grinchmas/macys wont start until december.
i thought we wouldnt get to see any special events during our trip - i was bummed. so there's something going on?

Haha right? I don't think it matters what they do with the queue, Ollivanders will always have ridiculous lines. That's still the only part of Wizarding World I have yet to go. At one point during my visit the wait was longer than Forbidden Journey's. :jaw:

Ollivander's is a b to get into to, but you just have to go at the very end of the night. We went when the park was open til 11 and knew one night we'd be gorging on a Great Feast and doing some non-rushed shopping. Hit up Ollivander's at 10:30 and waited possibly 5 minutes.

Yeah, I just experienced Ollivanders for the first time a few months ago on a day when the line was visibly short. I'm a big HP fan and everything, but the prospect of standing in direct sunlight, in a tight space, surrounded by other hot, smelly bodies for an hour... No.

It's not like I wouldn't want to do Ollivanders. Being a Harry Potter fan, there is nothing more I would like to have happen than be picked for a wand. I, however, am probably not someone they would pick. So standing in line for an hour to watch someone else have that experience would be pretty dumb. I would be standing in line to enter a merchandise shop. Gives me shivers.

It's still pretty neat to watch, even if you or someone in your party doesn't get picked. And sometimes they switch it up and pick adults too, so you never know ;)
