NOT always true. As overseas broadcasts are generally after the US broadcast, you are not always able to see them overseas. For instance, a friend in Australia is prohibited from viewing the Amazing Race broadcasts online.

New topic: Rumored April 9th Soft Opening

How probable do you think this is? I mean, Hogsmeade seems to be done, seeing as how Ellen was able to film, and FotH and Dragon Challenge seemed finished too. I don't count on Forbidden Journey being open, but being able to see 3/4th's of it wouldn't be half bad. Do you think this will be opening up come the 9th?

Not looking like it, unless there is an announcement for TM's to get there previews before then I wouldn't count on it.

I know this is not the spoiler topic but to those who saw the leaked picture of the vehicle...is it awesome?! No spoilers please, just a simple answer lol.

I know it is difficult to theme such a vehicle, but frankly I wasn't impressed. To me it looked simply too "carnival". This is all I will say, so don't ask me to elaborate any further.

I'm a member of WDWMagic, so yeah, I get the joke. There's a refreshing honesty about this thread, whereas the one thread over there that I'm familiar with is mostly a Disney vs. HP nonsense, with a strong dose of Universal bashing thrown in. Now, this is my first trip to Uni, I'm a huge Disney fan, but I have the crazy notion that there's room for both kinds of theme parks. I have loved all the photo updates on this thread, it has only whet my appetite even more for WWoHP. So keep the updates coming, I say!

There is plenty of room for everyone and for me every single theme park has its charm regarless if it is a Disney, Universal or a Busch theme park. I love them all because I was even involved in the construction of 3 Disney buildings (Team Disney, the office building in front of Downtown Disney, Swan and Dolphin Hotels) and 2 Universal Hotesl (Portofino and Hard Rock).

A lot of Disney fans do not appreciate nor respect Islands of Adventure because it is not a Disney park. But I think even Disney got so impressed (now just imagine with WWoHP) that for me DisneySea (in Japan) is Disney's answer to IOA. A theme park I would love to visit someday.

If you go to Universal, stay on property if you can. It's well worth it.

Truly and honestly I do think it could be possible. With as much info that they are about to release come tomorrow and next week. I see it very possible.

I think you were looking at it the wrong way. My take is that if you were in the seats, you would have been flat on your back looking up at the ceiling. It is very "boxy" to me though.

Spring break officially goes until the 11th. Although Im sure Universal wants to test the WWOHP out, it would be unwise to try and do so with Spring Break crowds, so IMO there will be no softs until after Spring Break, and after UO Team members have had a preview.

Again, softs are UNPREDICTABLE, so asking "WHEN?" will get you only opinions, and not much more. Even if there was a "soft" before the 11th, it could be for an hour, a few hours, or the entire day. Again UNPREDICTABLE.

Indeed "too carnival" is what the vehicles look like in that pic, and indeed we gotta have faith there will be a successful finished product. I hope that's not the finish product!

General softs will not happen April 9th, in my opinion. I like Disneyhead's idea!

Ok, I'm done for a while with the Spoiler thread... I am completely against it, but I couldn't avoid it today... grrrr! Glad to be outta there!

Guys, remember how Expedition Everest's cars looked like from the beginning? Universal would be stupid not to age them. ;]

If general softs start on the 16th, I will squee and run around in my PJ's throughout my neighborhood. (That's my birthday; I'm planning to go then. ;])

(BTW, nice sig, Disneyhead!)

Yeah I'm pretty sure the trains are getting another coat, I'm sure ride vehicles don't come pre-themed from the manufacturer either. Expect an old wooden look to it with a top. I've seen benches like these, they're somewhat gothic i believe.

I just mean to say that when the vehicle is first assembled I wouldn't think it is supposed to be a fully themed gothic bench. Just all the mechanics and a fiber-glass body.

That's what I think and hope too. They wouldn't go to such great lengths to make such beautiful and detailed theming and have some random yellow boxy vehicles to ruin the overall look ;-)

HA yes as the vehicle does remind me of a stand alone carnival ride, until I think about how much more dynamic it will be (and safer). The yellow primer doesn't help though :)
