Well I would assume that the staffs costume differ slightly from what they sell. Plus, they have staff stuff that they can show you. Why would they sell you something you can't wear in the park? I would seriously rotfl if you weren't allowed to wear your costume in the park lol...

The only thing that annoys me in the WWoHP is that people continuously put their hands all over the Sirius Black: Have You Seen this Wizard poster. I saw at least 100's of fingerprints riddled all over Sirius' face. Some kid even wrote 'SIRIUS!' all over the portrait. What I'm getting at is don't lay your hands on props. That should be a given from all the other islands and various other theme parks.

Are you kidding me? Not even a week goes by, and it's already written on? With what, permanent marker or something? That's incredibly awful.

I saw like 1 or two marks, and lots of dirt, but they clean it almost every two hours. Most people just use their fingers though.

That's ridiculous. At least the staff is keeping it clean!

The writing is bad, but if you're going to put a prop where someone can reach it, you have to realize they are going to touch it, at least in America.

I bet the finger prints take away from the immersion...that stinks! I guess it is inevitable with little kids and all...
By the way, there was something I noticed when I was there: I don't think I heard or saw one unhappy or crying child! You can't say that about Disney.

--- Update ---

OT, but for any of you on here who are Potter fans, there is a brand new trailer coming out this upcoming Monday at 7 pm ET...
And even more OT- but someone linked to the teen choice awards on Mugglenet's post about the trailer, and I went to check out the categories...Terry O'Quinn is up for Best Villain. He deserves it hands down, unfortunately no other teen but me will vote for him :(
I have a quick question: When my cousin is here, I think we're going to order his ticket to IOA online. Does anyone know how this works? Do you bring in a receipt and redeem it at the ticket booth, or does it work some other way? Thanks in advance.

I saw a man who looked to be in his mid to late 40s, fully dressed like a Hogwarts student with full robe and wand at the ready. You could tell he was a big fan and really enjoying the park. What I thought was completly rediculous is how badly he wanted a picture with the Frog Chior. If the little kids had gotten in his way he was going to knock them down. He made sure he was up there FIRST. There is a show every 30 minutes alternating between the Frog Chior and the Dancers. It wasn't like his very last chance to get a pictures.

There was a couple who looked to be in their 30s fully dress like students and people gathered around them, asked them questions and listened to their stories. There were a few times I wanted to find a Team Member to ask a question and almost tapped this couple before realizing it was them.

Harry Potter fans can be VERY vicious, and wierd. There were two groupies who showed up at some sort of speech thing that Dan was at, and they showed up wearing nothing but Harry Potter towels. I'm a huge fan, but I wouldn't do some of the things my fellow fans would do. I would never consider dressing in robes this summer. Now, if I have the money and I go this Fall, then I may very well buy robes and dress up (but I don't think I'll spend $100 on robes). I'm definitely going to buy my wand and hold it out the whole time I'm there. Might put it in my pocket or back in the box just cause... And I sure hope that there is some way to tell cast members from fans in costume lol...

I'm staying at the Royal Pacific like we did 2 years ago...I'm guessing we have to wait until 9. Must make sure we are the first people on the actual schedule lol.

You're talking about the WWoHP Hotel Package correct?

Don't wait until nine. All hotel guests get in for early opening. We had no package They say you get in at 8, but this morning they let us in at 7:30. Sunday was also 7:30 but Monday was 8:05 and Tuesday was 8:00. The gates open at 7 am and people are lining up already, so I recommend going early. We visited Ollivanders and got 3 rides on FJ and were back at the hotel eating breakfast by 9:30 this morning.

I think theme park visitors could give them a run for their money...

But some can be very sweet and fun at the same time. There are definitely drastic groups of HP fans.
There are the dedicated fans who will dress up and just enjoy it without disturbing other people...and then there are the crazies.
Don't get me wrong--I'm a HUGE fan. I dressed up as a Hogwarts student last year for Halloween, I've read the books front and back about six times each, I know the movies by heart...but I'd never butt in front of younger kids to get a picture with the Frog Choir...
It's like Twilight. There are the normal, obsessed fans...and then there are the ones who ask Rob Pattinson to bite their necks. Creepy.

Oh I know, I'm a fan myself remember. I love Harry Potter and I am a member of a fan forum called CoS. I was just saying what you just said, there are crazies lol... I am going to really try to get chosen for the interactive wand experience, I'm gonna try and get up front (and no, I won't push little kids out of my way xD) and I'll be very excited, and I will try and say something to the shop keeper if I get that chance (something along the lines of I'm going to Hogwarts, I need a wand, is this Ollivanders lol...)

Well I hope you get picked :) I'm just glad Ollivander's is picking older people as well.

WTRiker, I'm confused as to why you are ignoring the fact that the streets are too crowded in the morning to let everyone in without lining them up first. If you have been here, inside the land, since opening like I have been the past four mornings, you would understand how impossible your idea is. I have walked that line after leaving WW and have not seen anyone complaining or leaving the line. Everyone I have seen has been happy to be there. I also walked into guest services today to observe all these unhappy guests you are talking about and I didn't see any. I have to say, I am having trouble believing you or your "proof" to back up your opinion. What I do believe is that Universal underestimated the popularity of what they have built and are doing a fantastic job of dealing with the crowds of people. There is security everywhere and those lines are very closely watched and patrolled for problems. There are TMs pulled from all over the park to assist in those lines. Each day we have been here has been a little different as they are learning what works and what doesn't. The lines may hold more people, but I guarantee you people aren't waiting in those four hour lines to ride Dragon Challenge and you can't force them into those queues.

So, in short, you are wrong.

Yes, I think that is very cool. I remember a time when people reffered to people reffered to children who were good for FotH as "wand choosing age" lol.... I'm 13 and I was very happy to see that adults are getting picked as well, it improves my chances, and I'm glad that EVERYONE has the chance to experience a wand choosing young or old. Even if I don't get picked, I'll be happy to get my wand.
