^Simple, the Great Hall Restaurant would technically be apart of City Walk. There would be and entrance to the restaurant from the Wizarding World and an entrance from City Walk. If you wanted to eat at the restaurant, no theme park ticket would be required, but you would not be able to enter the rest of the Wizarding World.

so where will this entrance be? where the gibson gate is now? they only use that for overflow entrances and for concerts. they are not going to have the walters gate entrance for employees either. I remember people were talking about this here how that cannot happen since it will block service roads behind stores at citywalk.

If this were to happen, I would assume the entrance from CityWalk would be the old artist entrance for Gibson that's located between Starbucks and It's Sugar due to the proximity of the FJ showbuilding/Hogwarts.

would still block the service road for 5511, shops and Restaurants from camachos to the USS citywalk store.

A few months back, I heard there was road work going on back there. Could they be building a tunnel for the access road under a new path like they did from the park entrance to the Gibson Amphitheater? If not, I would guess that a path (like the Gibson path in the park) would give access from the outside of the park into a direct path to the Great Hall restaurant. In reality, I have no idea how this would work and would just love to see some blueprints of WWoHP Hollywood.

They are going to build a new "destination venue" at C-3 behind iFLY. They could build a bridge (red line) from this new venue to the Great Hall (T-5) for people to walk over the street.

Still have no idea how these ideas would work. What happens when the concerts start the same time as the peak dinner times? Idk it seems very unlikely that a great hall experience would be also part of citywalk

I'm sure if they do build the Great Hall Restaurant, for the first few years you will need to book a reservation many days/months in advance. If there is a concert at City Walk, just simply restrict reservations to only those guests with theme park tickets.

Or just create a temporary path during concert's for restaurant guests to use.  Disney does this every day with parades and shows, I'm sure Universal could do it too.

Wizarding World update for USJ. Looking good so far. Can't wait to see the same thing happen here.

Gosh I'm so jealous that theirs opens next year. I'm excited, however, to see if their version has any advancements over Florida's technically and how their Hippogriff might look, etc. They're definitely not getting Dragon Challenge either, so it'll be cool to see if they get any other unique experience. And we'll see if they might get the Great Hall. I feel that Japan's Wizarding World will be our preview of what ours will look like.

There could be a walkway on the side of the building you could take without actually going into the seating area of the theater.

FJ in both Japan and Hollywood is supposed to have a major technological upgrade that wasn't feasible in 2010 when the ride was first built according to an insider. The Japanese WWoHP has more land so it won't reflect what our Hogsmeade will look like because it so far reflects the one in Orlando exactly. Until we get to this stage in the construction progress, we won't have a good idea of the layout or what's included. What we should be able to reflect is the building style of the facade/show building. Orlando's show building looked like it was cast concrete (hurricane resistant). The one in Japan looks to have an entirely structural steel foundation (earthquake resistant). Most likely we will be seeing the Japanese style of building in ours.

I'm going to guess the upgrade will be glasses free 3D.  Although glasses themed to Harry Potters glasses would be really freaking cool.

I do NOT want it to be 3D. If they figure out how to make it high quality glasses free 3D, by all means, sure. That'd be amazing but I don't think we're that close to using that kind of technology in a ride. Too many practicality obstacles. Maybe that would be a good update in the distant future, since the original footage was apparently filmed in 3D of the actors.

Also, having 3D with those smaller screens that are that close and with all the motions of the kuka arm make it extremely unrealistic, glasses or not. I'd rather they keep it as is, which is already realistic. The footage of Potter is apparently only 2K and not 4K though (can I get a confirmation), so a 4K remastering of the ride footage would be fantastic.

I don't even think it's going to be 3D/glasses-free sorcery. Something bigger I'm guessing. We'll find out maybe in 2014 when Japan's opens.

To me, I'd just rather the projection be 4K. On those dome screens, 4K would be just as good as 3D imo. I don't see anything bigger beyond that.......

4K seems like a natural addition in my opinion. Though it probably won't seem like that big of a deal by the time we're riding FJ on the west coast, I'd like to see a better projection system for the ride.

That's what it will probably be IMO. 4K upgraded system :) they've actually been toying with a bit of the projection in Florida, so I can't wait to see what they'll for for ours.

IOA's Wizarding World is sort of the guinea pig in the sense that they can fix whatever they screwed up on the first time. Since we'll be the third park to welcome Potter and friends, we should have a pretty refined experiene all around. I can't wait to see an even more improved FJ. :D
