The trees don't really bother me all that much. It's better than what it was. However, I agree with William that painting a stone mural would have been much better.

They should've demolished the Shrek show building and plant trees there instead.

I would not recommend using the pathway between Android's and Hogsmeade to try and sneak into the land. Those barriers and TMs in front of the Hogsmeade arch are placed there for a reason. Please respect the Park's rules.

In a better world...

All I'll say is that the FJ show building better not be getting the same treatment.

Haha, that Black Friday at Hogwarts visual is  great!  I love it!  People fighting over the last sale-priced Nimbus 2000, wizards having their packages stolen in the parking lot, etc. Lol.  Were there a lot of people rushing in at 4?  I'm still debating trying it out.  But maybe they would lock it down tighter tomorrow (wondering if they only opened it up to avoid having to deal with people sneaking it).  There are still lots of other things to do at Uni even if it doesn't open... and a break would be nice. I'm only 90 minutes away, so it won't be a big deal to return to Potter later in the year (maybe mid-Sept).

I would try it. If the schedule is the same as Wednesday private preview ends at 4pm then will be open to guests til 7pm. And yeah, we were up by the train around 4 when all of a sudden like cattle people were RUNNING in lol. Truly comedic. That's when we went to the bottom lot and were able to just walk on all the rides. There were no lines.

This.

Guys, please respect the technical rehearsal/preview status of Wizarding World. You are not entitled to access in the land, and neither should you try to sneak in if you're there. If you do, it'd be greatly appreciated if you don't mention on our forums. It is not something you got away with and can live to tell about the tale: it is trespassing. It doesn't matter if there are other people in the land, you weren't supposed to be there, thus it can be seen by Universal Studios as a breach against their rules and possibly a crime. Let's not discuss it any further.

Thank you.  :)

I would have hoped for something practical placed on the building to offer a new sky line to the building.  As long as the building is still square, this will end up looking like the HOH building behind the Blues Brothers stage which was a hodgepodge mess of Marvel Mania/Grinchmas/Mummy/so on and so on and so on...

Despicable Me can get away with it, although it is already starting to get sun damaged.

Transformers was...eh, but okay for 2012.

This move for Potter has damaged the respect for theme quality that this attraction has made all over the world and now our Universal has to stoop as low as painted trees to try and hide imperfections.

Yuck!

Looks like it opened again to the public today around a quarter to five.  Do we know if there are any private events for Friday?  Do we think the AP previews will be handled the same way?  Park hours are until 9pm Saturday so I find it hard to believe it would be closed the entire time.

Comment on the painted trees....

If they do find a way to make them (as someone already commented) photo-realistic as possible, let's have them in 3-D. We hang onto the Quiddich Goggles as a fair trade-off.

I have a feeling they will try to keep it open to the general public as long as they can this weekend and next week. There are going to be tons of crowds and tons of angry people that "came here for the Harry Potter land". I am guessing and hoping at around noon or 1, they will open the land to the GP this weekend and most of this week, then keep it open until park closing. Also, look at this:

They had months to do this!! Now it is in the middle of where every guest going on FJ will see.

I wonder how much of it they're going to paint. I would hope at least the areas that are viewable from within the land.

I'm very disappointed in the whole tree painting. They couldn't at least do some brickwork and maybe put a nice little slanted facade of a roof on the top of the building? That would have at least given the illusion that the town of Hogsmeade continues on.

I guess it's the quicker (and cheaper) solution.

If they wanted to paint trees they even could have done a forced perspective type thing and made it look "deeper" if you get what I mean. And then they could have painted the Shrieking Shack off in the distance.

Is anyone truly surprised with them painting trees on the buildings? I mean, they've been very consistent on either painting murals or using cardboard cutouts. It's always one or the other.
