Even though opening day tickets are sold out online, it seems as though I can still purchase a friends/family ticket using my pass. Perhaps I'm being overly paranoid, but it should be valid, correct? Since it's sold out online, I just want to make sure it will still be honored.

Yikes, so I guess that's the scenario that won out among all the misinformation floating around yesterday.  Any idea how long the line is already?  Do we know what time you have to be back in line?

As of 40 min ago, there seems to be about 10 people in line.

So I'm on the phone with them getting slightly different info.  They are saying there are only 250 wristbands being given out and these are just a rewards for being the first in line.  If you have a wristband you have to come back at 2am for the line.  The 250 will be allowed inside to queue at the gates before the 6:30 early entry.  It seems like these are the people who will get to watch the Opening Ceremony.  She also said she didn't have info on that because they didn't want to spoil the surprise.  Then the rest of 6:30am Early Entry allows people inside of Hogsmeade but only to wait in line since the rides will not start until 8am.

I just read that Steven Speilberg himself was at the grand opening ceremony. It's a big duh since he's friends with John Williams and his office on the lot, but still. That's amazing.

PS: I'd love to nominate that [HASHTAG]#PotterWatch[/HASHTAG] be used today keep track of the line.  What number people are getting on their wristbands.  It would be nice to know how many are left and how crowded it's getting.

I can confirm that 250 appears to be the limit on wristbands at the moment. The man I spoke to said MAYBE more. But most likely 250.

I'm curious how quickly these 250 wristbands will run out.  I'm debating how aggressive I want to be for this.  I'd love to see the Opening Ceremony but I don't know if I want to camp overnight at Universal.  I would prefer to just wake up ridiculously early.  Oh the decisions!

Wow... I am very glad I went to as many of the soft openings as I could.  As much as I'd want to be there on opening day, it sounds a bit too crazy for my taste, in terms of crowd control.  I certainly wish the best to all who are attending... bring lots of patience!  I figure I won't be going again until some of the initial mania dies down.

Update:  [HASHTAG]#PotterWatch[/HASHTAG] is reporting that at the time of this post (5:26pm) there are 120 wristbands left.  They are just under half way gone.
