Isn’t that an odd music soundtrack for a theme park advertisement. Perhaps it’s intended to be gentle and happy on purpose and not EPIC like we are used to.

I don’t understand, stopping sales? Do they mean preorder sales, that you must purchase tickets the day of? I don’t get it.

For us in the UK at least, we cannot purchase any tickets for 2020 at all just 2021 now.

You must mean pre purchase? If you fly to Orlando this August you could walk up to the ticket counter at the MK and buy a ticket, correct?

For now I'd guess no, but I'm sure that's something that will be constantly up for review.

At this time, we are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so we can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations.

Disney has sure been doing their best to confuse their customer base....ie. hotel res. ,tickets, dining reserv., FP, Dining Plans....You need an MB to keep track of it all.

Looks like a temporary pause with "New ticket sales will resume after that period of time. " per the website. We had planned on a day at Disney on our December trip. I hope sales are opened back up by the fall.

On 1/15/20 we booked 8/24/20-8/30/20 at Coronado Springs. We did the full package, hotel, DDP, Tickets. We did our magic band order 1/20/20 and our ADRs 2/24/20.

Aside from confirmation emails on those 3 dates we haven't gotten a single thing from Disney. No statement about them closing, opening, changing the experience, canceling the plans that we were up at 6AM 180 days prior to arrival.

We're down to just one dining reservation left as they've slowly dropped out all weekend. I would've at least expected those removals to trigger a cancellation email since you have to put your credit card on file for the guarantee. Some people on the forums are showing that they were notified so I'm not sure how they are picking and choosing.

It has been a pretty stressful and poor experience compared to booking a UOR trip

The link they attached to shows the pause. No one has officially said that 2020 tickets are stopped for WDW. I also feel like if they were going to do that, Disney could've been upfront and said that already. They're definitely going to try to get more ticket sales for Q3 & Q4.

It seems this whole process is even more planning stress than the overt planning required for past Disney vacations. Evidently WDW doesn't understand the business philosophy of "Keep It Simple"....I think it boils down to their 'corporate arrogance' towards the consumer, that the consumer will kiss Mickey's ears no matter what... Universal parks are not better than Disney's, but their philosophy of keeping vacation planning simple, and leisurely enjoyable, at least to me, is a better way of doing business. I've gotten to the point where I spend the 'vast' majority of my vacation time at Universal, because, bottom line, they give me a better vacation experience that allows for spontaniety , relaxation, & leisure without over planning. As i said, I think Disney's parks are as good as Universal's, but their overall vacation experience is not.

Oh, so this is an “until further notice” thing with Disney tickets. They want to get a handle on the numbers of existing tickets out there and see what demand that wreaks. I thought they had a better handle on existing tickets than they apparently do.

I wonder if they are running into restaffing problems?

Disney just opened up a system for full time employees who want to start working right away to temporarily transfer. This should help fill vacant positions as well as offer work to some of the people who are not going back to work right away (water parks, entertainment, etc.)

With only ten hour operating days and no EMH it should offset the lack of CPs.

Are the streets littered with passed out TMs yet due to wearing a mask?

Has anyone seen any VB updates? Specifically Punga?
I’m guessing there are basically no people there. It’d be a dream to go there today or tomorrow since everyone is focused on the dry parks.

Not much.

So when asked about it, Universal made fun of masks in regard to VB. I get water and masks don't work, but take questions about it seriously seeing as it's enforced at the dry parks.

A last-minute audible basically supports the report in the HHN thread of no lines. If so many TMs aren't eager to come back for an exclusive day in the park, probably not a positive sign re: general public.

ETA: such a 180 from CityWalk and especially Springs opening, I have to wonder, are people ok with a mask for an hour or two but don't want to wear one all day? Or have that many TMs already left town/moved on to other jobs?

They weren’t joking about it. They just copied and pasted a generic answer without fully reading the question. It’s the exact boiler template they use for questions about masks in dry parks.
Because masks arent required at VB. They’re recommended, like Legoland. Even the signs at VB say “encouraged” vs “required”.

I was eligible to go today. Had tickets and everything. Was gonna meet-up with some friends for the first time since the last day of operation. I decided against it because I just didn't care enough and neither did my friends.

You have to remember, the only people that can go to this are part-time/Seasonal (basically those that are on furlough) because Full-Time are all working staffing the parks and CityWalk today. Most TMs don't actually care too much about visiting the parks, they really don't. People who get hired for HHN do, but everyone else works there too much to care enough to come there and not get paid.

I know they aren't required at VB. But read what they said at tell me where anyone even could wear a mask on an attraction if "slides and Pools" are not allowed? It's idiotic.
