Mind if I ask if you took any pictures? It'd be really interesting to see of where exactly how far its from to the current entrance of Universal Studios Hollywood to the new markings.

They're mostly located between the ticket booths and the turnstiles and around the will-call area and they are marked such as "TRENCH", "GAS", ect.

Do you have a source? As if that's the case..then Grinchmas could be either not happening this year or its going to be a hell-zone for entry..unless they go for Globe Theatre as the entrance.

Unless what they now have planned for the entrance isn't too elaborate or extremely different, I don't see how they'll get it even remotely finished by January or even by when Potter opens from previous things I've seen.

Unless of course it'll be something super simple like new landscaping, new detailed pavement similar to what's in front of the Wizarding World entrance, etc, to spruce up the entrance before a larger project is started after Potter's opening.

I was there yesterday. Didn't notice the markings on the pavement but the backstage entrance in-between the Bathrooms and the CityWalk Universal Studios Store was behind construction walls.

One thing that it could make sense is if Comcast gives the workers doing exterior for Potter given another project that they can work on. If it is possible that it could be done by January; then it won't be done just simply by the management teams but Comcast itself giving the big push to get crap done.

Yep, I forgot to mention that. There were also construction walls on the fountain side near Saddle Ranch. This is so exciting!

I believe that is just for the ADA ramp. Could be very wrong about that but i'm assuming that's correct?

Possibly! Universal has a lot planned to reinvent and reinvigorate the front entrance.

Well, they had a lot of CONCEPTS that looked amazing, can't wait to see what comes to fruition. I was hoping to see most of it before Potter, but I guess they didn't want to risk the entrance being a construction zone for when Potter opens.

It was in concept form, that's all I can say. Not at liberty to share from where either, sorry.

However, what I can say is that none of it was recent or new, so a lot might have (and probably did) change since then, as ideas always evolve. What I saw was pretty grand and elaborate, so if these so-called new blueprints show something more scaled back and opening by January, then it's obviously been scaled back.

Again, my theory at this point is that they'll do some minor updates to the entrance in time for Potter, just to spruce it up and make it more modern and refreshed, and then will probably start on a bigger project after Potter opens once they get a sense of crowds or something.

At this point, it's all "rumors"/blue sky. What ISN'T blue sky, is that Universal DOES have lots of plans to refresh the entrance. A lot of it also was based on a new hotel, and who knows how long that'll be on hold for.

More remodeling.  I think we're at the point where the list of areas not remodeled is shorter than areas that have been. 

This looks new.  Also appears to be wheel chair-friendly which is nice.  Rather heavily trafficked spot to pause and take in the view, however.

I guess if you have to have construction walls up why not theme them to Halloween Horror Nights, right?

Nahhhhh....they're just replacing the Universal Arch with yet another new Grab 'n Go option. Instead of getting your finger scanned, you'll now be required to purchase a sandwich of your choice.
