Probably late September or the first week of October to take advantage of peak HHN crowds

I've heard from a few sources that they are wanting it open by the beginning of HHN... Whether that actually happens though is anyone's guess

I'd love to be there when it opened, I'm there 9th - 24th September. I think there could be some great freebies.

I'm there Sept. 22nd-October 2nd. So I'm really hoping it opens by then, though I'm keeping my expectations that it will to a minimum. Rather not set myself up for disappointment lol

I'm dying to get in there and smell all around:)

I hope they pump chocolate smell outside. That would make walking by it so much fun.

i love the overall theming, but to be honest those top stacks do not seem proportional to the building size. I like the side tubing, but the main towers seem obnoxious.. just my opinion though. otherwise it looks amazing

I was thinking the same thing. I get what they were going for but....something looks off. Ill wait for the giant name sign to go on. Also how high is that building now? Surely you can those from inside the park.

I love the grandness of it, but at the same time it seems as if the scale is out of whack so it also looks slightly weird to me.

I believe they went oversized to give a whimsical almost cartooney effect.

It's how the brain assumes spaces should interact. Like how the trees on Dinosaur hide the show building (because our brain says if we can see trees there isn't a giant show building back there.)

The smokestacks are way too big for the size of the building beneath it. There is no functional way for them to work if that's the building they lead into. Our brains know they should be attached to mechanical "stuff" under them and the ratio is way off.

I've seen plenty of old abandoned mills. The big feature is often a very large and very tall smokestack. This allows for the smoke to be blown away rather than possibly lingering. Even when the mills are torn down the smokestacks are kept. Large smokestacks are iconic.

Exactly. Here in the Mon Valley we once had the largest collection of steel mills in the nation. They all had the huge, seemingly out of size, smokestacks.

Oh... the new pics. As ever, slow as a tortoise here. Goodness that place is looking wild and goofy, and I like it. Did Universal remove a tree? All of the other pics had a huge tree obstructing the left side.
