It is all about the experience. I doubt they are going to be selling very many take out shakes. The place has a dinner show feel to it. You are paying for more than food. Kind of like the huge prices for character meals in Disney. Cafeteria grade food, at 4star prices.

I think the real test will be to see if they can deliver on the promise of it being a full service savory restaurant. What will distinguish it from all the other restaurants have been opened in the last 2 years, menu and execution wise?

Just noticed that. The description would be more appropriate for the "Bacon Brittle" milkshake listed on the other menu board.

Those prices are very high, even for a theme park. Can someone describe what this "entertainment" that you are paying extra for entails?

There's an elaborate story line and our hostess/founder and her robot will be meeting and greeting guests all around the place.

I've heard the 16th is what they are shooting for for mock service so opening on the 23rd seems plausible.

Is mock service a soft open?
I'll be at UNI until the 18th and would love to take this place for a test run.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out, but if the milkshakes cost that much I don't know if I want to see what an entree will cost.

Food for thought (haha): Those sundaes look pretty big from the pictures and all of them are cheaper than the shakes. I would expect the shakes to be roughly the same size or bigger, or nobody would have reason to buy them over the sundaes.

In their defense, this isn't the kind of place you would walk up to, take a look at, and think "I bet their food is reasonably priced!" I'm fully expecting to drop a little extra dough here.

I love milkshakes but milkshakes don't love me. The huge benefit of staying on site this time is that if I time it right, I can have my milkshake for the walk back to the hotel and be close enough to the toilet in my room by the time the effects kick in.
