This is my chief complaint with Universal Studios (not IOA though). The theming is really a mixed bag. I was hoping (and think) a lot of these projects will fix that.

Looking over my pictures of Singapore is a realization of what a Studio's park should and can look like! However the Hollywood version of Transformers by comparison (haven't seen that one in person) looks pretty awful. The Singapore look also doesn't fit for where it's going in Universal (very sci-fi and also includes the Battlestar Coaster). So instead I'm hoping for a continuation of the New York vibe, even if that means a New York warehouse.

As is at least it's better than a run-down looking soundstage.

Sure. Anything is an improvement. However, there is a right way and a wrong way of doing things. For example, NextGen and Ipad games are the wrong way of keeping a 40 year old environmentally-themed park fresh. In this specific case, a soundstage look is not a wrong decision for most areas of USF. However, for this specific spot with the height that was required, extensive care is called for in the design. I am really hoping I am over-reacting and JungleSkip is locked on.

In 1991 this wouldn't be a big deal, but at this point Universal needs to keep the bar high.

I'm assuming we won't ever get concept art for the exterior of this? Is it too late in the game for that?

Well, if that really is the extent of the theming, I think it is a huge failure of Uni's part. Big cop out. You can't build a building that large 360 degrees, in that spot, and phone it in with fake conduit. I appreciate the whole last minute green-light to save from paying Uncle Sam, but that doesn't excuse sloppy implementation. I was hoping it was going to be supplemental to an overall facade.

Worse than HRRR for New York. I am really harsh on Disney, and if Disney was doing this people would be screaming.

I honestly wouldnt worry about the authenticity or lack of theming because Universal gets it done..plain and simple. Look how detailed The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is. Anyways I would definitely wait for the final outcome to judge Universal on this attraction..just saying. You are right about one thing though, Disney definitely should be screaming with what Universal Orlando has coming in the near future.

Thanks for the pics, HTF! Especially the close-ups!

Question: Any windows planned in the theming of this building?

Agreed, great pics. New to all this construction so finding it really interesting and insightful, can't imagine what we will end up with.

Thanks for the closeups HTF. Now I can see that those warm grey attachments are supposed to resemble some kind of duct work. Wasn't clear until I saw the obvious rivet work.

All I know is from the beginning I've been told the exterior will be themed much better than the Hollywood version. I think the front entrance/front side will look significantly better than the rest, though.

I had a dream about riding this last night!! Seriously, I was at the park with a friend and I just walked in the main entrance and supposedly it was a test run. All I remember is thinking it was the best ride ever! :P Btw, I walked outside and remember thinking the exterior was amazing. It fit very well with New York but sorry guys, I don't remember all the details (you know how you just know things in your dream?! Well it was extensively themed.)

I experience "Deja Vu" often from dreams so I'm taking this as a sign that we will all be pleasantly surprised! Also, I remember meeting someone from the Forums that was there as well, wasn't HTF or Disneyhead though

I get it. Just saying that the front doesn't matter much if New York looks like crap. You have buildings half the height of Transformers surrounding it that masquerade quite effectively as three story buildings. Not trying to beat a dead horse, still very excited, but Uni has so much planned that I hope they don't rush through everything in a half-*#@ manner.

The scale and location of the wall packs/light fixtures on the columns do not give me much hope. That is what soured my mood I guess.

Keep the faith. Remember...it is still very early on in the facade phase. We still have a while to wait until we see anything resembling a finished product.

Agreed! It's too early to judge anything at the moment.
