What do the chevrons on the building mean? Is it just another case of them just making the building look cool and militaristic?

This site continues to amaze me with the almost daily photo updates and how cool is that? Once again and sorry to repeat myself, many thanks to those who take the time to go to the parks and keep fueling our interests.

I can't believe the walls are down and they're laying down black top. Keep it up Universal!

I'm sorry to repeat what others are saying, but the speed at which this building is being constructed is amazing. When I was there in August it was an enormous hole. When I was there in December the building was almost completely sealed. Now, February, construction walls are coming down and talk of cycling vehicles and soon-to-open gift shops pervades this board.

When I think of the quality of this attraction it's hard to think that this is basically being built as an appetizer to the main course that is Harry Potter 2.0.

The more the complete the exterior the more it is starting to grow and me. I would be awesome if Universal could pull some major strings and get some fighter jets to flyover during the grand opening.

So I dug up a little more info on the Air Products company. It was after I passed one of their facilities driving around for work today in PA. Their corporate hq are actually located in Allentown, PA. It wasn't until July of last year that they announced a second manufacturing facility in Manatee County, Florida. The facility was opened open because of the easier access to ports in order to ship larger heat exchangers to locations around the globe. Manatee County is about an hour and 50 minutes away from Orlando. Is it more than just a coincidence that Comast has its hq located close to Allentown in Philadelphia? Idk.

But Air Products is liquified natural gas (LNG) world leader. Here's an about section from the company's article regarding the Florida land purchase:

No real info here haha but just excited. My fiancé and I had a trip planned in October to go to Disney(she's addicted) but as I got increasingly more excited about this ride I couldn't wait til our next vacation where universal was in the plans(winter 2014). I was able to convince her to fly down a day early to enjoy this ride and obviously the highlights of both parks.

There are some effects at the end of the ride that do use LN. :thumbs: It's a small amount that's used but with the ride operating possibly 12 maybe 13 hours a day. They would need a tank that large to hold the LN.

Such as the construction site part of the ride in the high rise and when you crash through the road and the subway.

THAT WOULD ROCK!!! & it is usually around the spring time that they have the air show at Macdill AFB in Tampa & feature either The Thunder Birds or Blue Angels, so they might just be on tour in Fl anyway, so who knows!!

OK, went to SM concert Saturday (boy are they getting old - but I guess I haven't seen them for over 13 years... anyways) and I have to say walking around the park the building fits. It is was tan, it would not fit from many angles. From the MIB side you hardly notice the building. And Shrek building sticks out so much on that side that Transformers looks fine. Not sure about NY side yet as it is not themed yet, but my guess is it will fit in there too. Honestly it looks pretty cool in person and the lights at night are AWESOME!!!!

On a side note, I really wish people would stop smoking where they are not supposed to smoke, just my rant for the day. Now DH doesn't want to go to any more concerts Which means not seeing Uni for awhile again...sigh.

I doubt they have any real narrative behind them. Aren't they usually used to indicate the amount of space the should be left between two moving vehicles or machinary?

But they do look really neat-o.

jtsalien, that is great research in finding that the tank is more than likely LNG. So, why might they need LNG in that location. And what could the heat exchangers be for? (are the pipes with fins heat exchangers? duh on me.)

I am not new to the internet, I VERY well know what Google is, so I dont appreciate my intelligence being insulted.

The reason why I asked what a Chevron is is because I have only heard of the car company Chevron, so I was confused as I thaught you were meaning that maybe they were somehow using there logo or something. & Google wouldnt tell me where on the building these "Chevrons" are located that you were reffering to so I could better understand what you were talking about, hence why I was asking. In fact, I DID look it up, & none of the images I saw have I seen on the building. Again, I was just trying to help & now feel like I have been slapped in the face.

TPV, are you for real? The zig zag lines are the chevrons, that's what a chevron is, a "V" shape. And you will notice them all over the TF building.

I am 99.9% sure Teebin didn't mean any disrespect when saying google is your friend. I've said it multiple times and not once did I ever mean it in a disrespectful manner.

Was there that day The stepson (24) was smoking by the corner of FF and the construction wall and was told by a cast member to please move to the smoking area(behind old jaws bathroom )
that is closer to where people walk.So the cast members try to get people to smoke where they are supposed to.
