For these parks grand opening is ceremonial, and the bigger concern is getting it on the news. Potter phase 1 had it's grand opening on a Friday, but they also didn't have to worry about getting it in the news cycle, because it was going to be covered no matter when it opened.

This ride will soft open prior to, and should be running open to close the week prior to grand opening.

I'm going to be there on May 18th and 20th. That's like 5 weeks beforehand. I sincerely hope they will have softs then.

It's still very possible, the window of possible softs as I've said before opens around the 15th.
