I agree with this.

Remember, there were height balloons flown. Something substantial is being built. Anything meh wouldn't be fast-tracked. IMHO.

74' @ magic
You know what? I just heard that the Comcast bigwigs are at UNI as we speak ... and no, they aren't there to discuss terms of handing Spidey and Hulk over to Bob Iger (sorry, fanbois!) ... I wonder what they are doing there? :)

I wanna be a big insider!!! Oh well, I don't know nothing. I was offered something last night and said I didn't want to know. It was something to do with the crux of HHN but alas.

I'm not saying the info I got is 100% right. But it makes sense.

And the idea is a solid one for the park.

Ummm c'mon guys, share to goods or at least a Teebenesque riddle

I know what I've been wanting for this spot for who knows how long, all you have to do is look at my very first post in this very thread to know that, but if it is Transformers, I'll take that too

This is all very exciting, but logic is tempting me to say not Transformers too; I can't imagine any park being that keen to plonk a 2-storey show building for a dark ride in a position such that is was visible from all sides. I'm tempted to think the height balloons may have been for some smaller element at that height rather than the entire building, even it it was themed a building as big as the TF one wouldn't look that nice if you could see it from all sides. There's a reason FJ, Spidey and TF are all built (relatively) on the edges of their respective parks, I think.

Unless they theme the entire show building as a soundstage, thus rendering this logic redundant

Even if it ends up not being Transformers, it's pretty funny that Soundstage 44 has the same sq. footage as it.

Darn, I called the Wall Street Journal today and broke the news to a reporter that an extended version of the Transformer 3D ride was coming to USF. I added that it would be three minutes longer than any other version and would contain an incredible underwater battle sequence where Harry Potter arrives, gillyweed in hand to assist Optimus achieve victory. (I got carried away a bit) I would call them now but I think their offices are closed. Hope that it doesn't affect the markets.

As it stands, in feet, the dimensions of SS44 are 130x130. With the stupid Shrek M+G taken away as well as some backstage storage space, it is around 130x180. The subsequent square footage can be, at most, 23.4k.

The TF show building is around 180x170 with a sizeable chunk missing. Without that chunk, the subsequent square footage is around 30.5k.

Not really. :/

Using the unnecessary walkways around the building they can get the sqft they need.

We've been over this extensively.

Just did actually. It's around 30', but it totals out, in that case, to around 28.5k. I think they could lose some queue in that case. So I rebuke my statement. I just hope that the New York side is given respectful facades. I REALLY hope that.

It's not Transformers.

At least I'm like 99.99999% sure it's not Transformers.

Also, I dunno where you're doing your measurements. There's way more than 30,000 sqft with the sidewalk around the building.

Hypothetical only to demonstrate that anything can be done... if the building in hollywood is currently 50' ft, then we as designers build a 70' building and put the queue on the first floor. If they want, they can build anything in that location, 4 e-tickets even... anything is possible if you just go up up up.

Until you state your reasoning for this or you work for Universal Creative I deem this speculation as well

Go for it.

It very well could be. But I trust the info I got. The person I got it from has a proven track record.
