That's a weak argument. Virtually every Disney park has a clone of another, and has been done in recent years. (And this is just stateside, and off the top of my head)

Toy Story Mania
Soarin
Little Mermaid
Star Tours
Tower of Terror
Muppetvision

They were working hard until like 10:30 last night. They really want this thing open.

I would see what you meant if they took out an existing attraction for Transformers, but wouldn't you much rather have a new ride, clone or not, than just an abandoned building sitting there taking up space?

Rough sketch of the layout as determined from these great shots. If it wasn't Transformers before, it's Transformers now.

I believe we have established that maintenance will take place in the basement, and not on the first floor.

It appears they lay a very certain concrete mix for the wheel tracks. Not sure why they would be a separate pour otherwise.

Just incredible, you can sort of get a perspective of its size in the first picture because of the two people walking so closely to the construction walls. I am beyond thrilled for this project, can't believe it's actually coming to Orlando! I'm getting very curious for the announcement date, seems like it will be here anytime now!

What basement? ;)

It looks like they left space to run electrical under the path, which makes total sense. Once the conduit or whatever is laid, expect a final pour over that, then we will see the guide rail installed.

About the separate pour for the ride path: The only reason that comes to mind is wear and tear. In case for some reason the vehicles wear out the surface or cause cracks, it's only limited to the ride path, and does not affect the rest of the building. Or is for whatever reason they need to tear up the floor to access electrical underneath, it doesn't risk cracking the concrete for the main floor. I'm no engineer though, so there may very well be other reasons.

I am merely suggesting it may be a very special mix of concrete of which there are hundreds of combinations and additives. Otherwise, I see no reason for laying such specific outlines. Too, I cannot imagine why they would require bus-bar power beneath the entire bar path as one point of supply power should be sufficient. Of course, like you I am not an engineer, however I do find it all thought provoking.

Maintenance for USH is on the first floor. I see no evidence to suggest otherwise here.

There's a lot more wiring on the track than you think. The bus bars that span the length of the track are physically isolated to create block zones (kind of like a roller coaster). There are 6 bus bars that span the length of each zone: 3-phase, ground, a "go" signal that enables the vehicle to move, and another that does something else (my hunch is a control for RV resets. Here it may be used as a "reverse enable" of sorts so that the vehicles always know if they're on the second floor or the first. The RV's base is actually moving in reverse on the second floor.) Each zone has it's own PLC.

The system is NOT controlling each vehicle individually. When a vehicle enters a zone, it shunts the 3-phase and the ground in that zone, telling the previous zone PLC to turn off its bus bar that is producing its "go" signal. So if a vehicle catches up to another one, it will run into a zone without the enable and stop.

All that being said, we now have at least 6 wires going to the track in each zone. The zones range from 5 feet long to 15 feet (well, they do in Spider-man at least.) Then add all the proxy switches that are on the track every 3 feet or so. Then in the station there's proxy switches on the track every 6 inches or so. <---All these likely have to be wired to their respective zone PLC. Then you have your track switches to deal with.

There's a LOT of wiring under there.

Ugh. We can name copies of attractions on both sides of the fence. Such a bad argument pushed by people who have the privilege of visiting two coasts.

/rant

Awesome, we can see the actual track now!

I heard the craziest rumor. I have a question. How 100% absolutely positive are we that this is giant ROBOTS?

Not trolling just making the point (sarcastically I admit lol) that a lot of people are quick to condemn Disney for cloning rides yet when Universal do the same thing it hardly ever gets mentioned. Before everyone now says yes but Mermaid is lame and Transforms is cools it doesn’t matter the basic argument is the same.

If this is transformers (which may now be in dought after Disneyhead lastest post) I have no problem as already been stated here a new ride in Orlando is a new ride in Orlando so what does it matter it’s in other places just wish people would use that same logic when discussing the mouse.
