I think someone asked this a while back so I'm sorry if it has been answered. Has anyone gotten pics of monsters before it closed? In all the years visiting I never even went inside for some reason. Thanks

I just have a couple on this computer. I will look for some more once I am back at work...

Do we have an estimated date for Monsters to close yet? I'd like to eat there one last time before my favorite restaurant (theme wise) fades into history.

I wouldn't expect it to close until after the holidays.

They had the camo uniforms out at the announcement. They escorted Bumblebee and Optimus to the globe.

I knew the building was huge, but still never realized how massive it really was. Seeing it from different angles (like the first pic with the street view) helps. Awesome pics.

After standing under the building you realize how HUGE it is. Significantly larger than the previous building.

I'm probably going to sound like someone who boohoos over small things, and this is off topic, but I don't know how I feel about them using a military like uniform. I have a soft spot in my heart for military members, very close friends wear it proudly every day, and a few other close friends died wearing it. I know it's not an exact copy, and I'm not going to complain about it, I mean it does look good. I just prefer they found another costume that looked good.

The ride's story revolves around people in the military, so it makes sense.

I see your point here--seems like they're trying to mix a very serious and important part of our country with entertainment. But I think the context of the uniforms isn't the real military but this NEST base, so hopefully that helps.

I see what you guys are saying here but is it any different in principal when you compare it to the countless movies that portray the military. Coming from a family that has roots in both military and law enforcement I take zero offense to something as simple as a uniform in a theme park. Sometimes you just have to step back and think, was mocking those who died for our country their intention and desire OR is it simply another reason why we as people feel like we're walking on eggshells every day of our lives?

THis. I understand his point, but UNI isn't out to mock or portray the military in a sour light. It's part of an experience and they seem to handle it correctly. It would be different if they misused the image

Isn't it over twice as tall? The thing looks absolutely massive. Can't wait to see it in person.

Just to give my $.02 on the costume discussion: I see absolutely no problem with portraying the military in the entertainment industry. Two of my best friends from my childhood are serving in the Marines and Air Force, respectively and I doubt either of them would see an issue with the costumes being used for Transformers. Here it's more of portraying the background characters from the movie rather than actually mimicking the modern military itself. I don't really know what other kind of costume would fit the theming of the attraction even close to as well as those digital camouflage costumes do. At least they're not the new Test Track costumes...
