Hoped you enjoyed my Twitter pics from earlier.

Any way, I got home just past midnight so I'll post this shot tonight and the rest in the morning. I'll have various updates in the usual threads. G'night.

Thanks. The reason I used the word 'heavy' is because I know for a fact it didn't start appearing widespread in grocery and dept. stores until the late 70's or early 80's. So, now I will go on quest for TF toy bar codes. Perhaps it is one of the toys being sold in the park now.

Aaaah! per wiki: "By 1980, 8,000 stores per year were converting [to barcode tech]."

That is how I remember it coming about.

The building really is coming together and starting to look pretty great. I didn't anticipate liking it, but they've totally proven me wrong.

Can't wait to see more as it comes.

And The Transformers brand we know over here was actually the merging by Hasbro of 3 different Takara toy lines  I agree the building is looking better and better. Those door lifts look quite cool.

Maybe we'll get Optimus above the entrance and Evac on the ground level :look:

Missed one.

Notice the steel studs going up on the left side of this picture. Looks like the NY side will be similar to the other sides with faux columns.

Awsome update, thanks Bob  I still can't believe the pace of this build, it was just a hole in the ground when I was last over in August.

I might be going this Saturday because I'll be bringing my mom to the Days Of Our Lives meet and greet with the actors at City Walk, so I'm going to take a shot at giving a photo update on the Transformers building construction

Wow, the finished up the shrek side in a few days, and now they're just about done with the lagoon as well. It's been said to death but this project is going insanely fast.

This is going up at such an incredible pace! Maybe by next week it'll be all done!

Heck, it might be done in a few days at the rate they are going!! At the LATEST, I predict all of the exterior themeing will be completed within 2 weeks at the latest, which includeds the outside queue, entrances & exits, etc, if not sooner, so by about March 3rd, with softs beginning at the middlle of March or sooner, I'm no expert or have any inside info, so this could be WAAAY off, but these are my guesses. But either way, it looks like it is now just a matter of weeks, not months which is exciting!

Wonderful update, Bob! Universal Studios has always been my favorite park at night, and the look of the NEST building will only add to it! It looks awesome lit up! I can't wait to see this across the lagoon from Men In Black.

Ditto! The night shots of this are particularly stunning. Similar to the MiB building, which is a whole other creature at night, all lit up.

Yes, it's a storage tank for a Transformers effect. I imagine it will be used to store LN, a.k.a. liquid nitrogen. This could be used to create smoke/fog.

Note the cooling assembly:

Why would they need a cooling assembly if they are using LN? Trucked in LN is already -300 F. Or are you suggesting they are going to manufacture LN on site.
