You can just walk through the garage at Surfside like these people are doing on Google Street View:I-Drive Access is ridiculously limited at both properties. There is a room key only access gate near the intersection at both properties, but the last time I was at Surfside, the gate was dead bolted (even a key wouldn't open it). The garage has an emergency exit staircase that drops onto I-Drive (that is hard to find), but it doesn't grant entry. The only reliably open spot is the Gate that is pretty far down Universal Blvd.
Security was stationed there last time I was there, but I take it they’ve eased up.You can just walk through the garage at Surfside like these people are doing on Google Street View:
And how was the chicken?

Is there going to be a post/article about the opening? :look:

We were able to tour the hotel back a week before opening and came away impressed, anticipating our opening night stay on March 17. "The hwww.insideuniversal.net
I have not been but I think that is exactly how they are positioned, they are value but niceI’ve always thought that Cabana Bay was like a Value+ (or Moderate-) hotel that was a bit nicer than a typical value.
Is that still true? How do the two of these compare to Cabana?

Looks like Surfside is closing and Dockside will remain open.
Yup this was announced awhile ago. 750 rooms vs 2,000. I imagine everyone is being shuffled to Dockside.
