Scott did an hour long interview for FNAFs 10th anniversary earlier this month, and he was asked about collaborations. He said that he’s much more open to them now then 10 years ago, but that it’s really important and difficult that he maintains the series identity and integrity.

He also said the biggest challenge in getting a movie script right was balancing the animatronics roles as the threat, and as confused children who don’t actually have evil intentions. If I had to guess, HHN fell through this year because Scott had similar issues with the story. The second film will have way more animatronics, all of which are just straight up evil, so I think waiting for a sequel to do an HHN house might end up being the right move anyway.

He spoke very highly of Universal and Blumhouse and mentioned being excited to work together more, so I don’t think it was necessarily some big fight that led to FNAF not showing up at the event this year

I would be seriously disappointed if they didn’t include horror IPs on the HHN stage and subject them to Fan Fests.

I kind of wonder with that--if they might try to do a way to keep either Weeknd or Ghostbusters around for FFN.

Given Universal welcoming Ghostbusters back more and more; it might be an interesting element of consideration (same goes to Weeknd due to the new album and what will likely be North America getting a tour once it drops).

I get this feeling a lot of you are setting yourselves up for major disappointment with such grand expectations for a park that doesn't fully deliver.

This is the same park that promoted the return of the "Runaway Train" for the 60th Anniversary. All we got was them relocating it to sit on the Breaking Bridge & blow smoke.

And as for the anime part. Downplaying anime & saying it's "too niche" is laughable. You put anime in USH (and promote it), you'll have the "Field of Dreams" effect- "if you build it, they will come". Besides, have you not seen the AnimeExpo crowds!? SoCal (and beyond) is filled with that demographic

As for what Universal Japan does, they just know how to market it to make you want it. The U.S. marketing fails (except for Six Flags running over Mr Six)
I just find it hard to believe this fan fest will have more than the photos, food/drink, and characters around the park. Idk hopefully this isn’t such a money grab as I think it is!

I mean thats all good but.....actions speak louder then words

You like Universal and HHN then why nothing this year? Like cool you don't want a house

Meet and greet? Show? Even an exhibit with set prices, costumes and the characters?

While I know FNAF had a big base before its even bigger now after the film and very very strange not to have one of Universal biggest films of last year not at all be apart of Halloween this year

I hope the creator finds a a way to get these characters into Universal because they would be hugeeee hits if they did a show, house and I think even a meet and greet would get insane lines
