How do they get away with defacing money? I thought it was illegal.

That makes no sense really. I guess some things could look better silver but who wants to crush 25 cents when other(most machines) let you pay 50 cents to crush and waste an extra once cent? Since they are destroying the third quarter they make no extra profit off the deal. That is indeed dumb.

If my quick Google research served me accurately, since the coins being smashed are not going to trick anyone into thinking its a different coin (defrauding) its fine. I wonder how many coins exit circulation in this manner?

Ride Popeye in the middle of a Florida Winter?? ;) I haven't rode it recently so I wouldn't be of much use if I did.

When did smashing quarters become a thing? Pennies I get...

They've had that for a while. I did that with quarters on my trip there 3 years ago.

Guess I just assumed it was a penny smasher and moved on. Someone pointed it out to me that it was a quarter, so since I never noticed it before I posted it here. Which goes to show you just how many tiny details these parks are made out of!

Pennies are pretty useless anyways, better for them to exit circulation.

... are you referencing who I think you're referencing?

In related news, John Green got Obama onboard (and Obama dropped an impromptu DFTBA).

We're currently phasing out the Penny here in Canada. Change is now being rounded up or down to the nearest nickel.

Just another reason why I think it's on the way out in America.

Yes it was but I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed. If you know what I mean.

I can confirm that it is indeed automatic ticket kiosks. I'm honestly surprised no one else has been able to confirm that, or taken the time to.

It's very obvious that's what it has been, hence them tearing up the ground for infrastructure work. I also know that a ton of infrastructure work is taking place in the backlot to coincide with hogwarts express work.
