yeah, I would be shocked if we didn't see permits that help pin-point aspects like the layouts and sizes of the complex by around the next year or two. It only makes sense, as this is a larger project than say..a Themed coaster, or a fully themed land.

What I'm curious of, is to see any possible Beijing leaks of ride systems for Panda and Jurassic World.

On 27 October, a Beijing Youth Daily reporter learned from Tongzhou District that the first phase of the Universal Beijing Theme Park and Resort Project completed the planning and design and entered the construction preparation stage.

The Cultural Tourism Zone Management Committee recently coordinated the Tongzhou District Housing Construction Committee, the Municipal Municipal Committee, the Urban Management Enforcement Bureau, the Environmental Protection Bureau, the Transportation Detachment and other units, and 5 P3, P4, P5, P6, and H1A hotels that are to be opened when the Universal Studios park is planned to open. The construction site will be formally accepted by the six parties before the start of construction.

At present, all the projects of the first phase of Universal Beijing Theme Park and Resort Project have completed the planning and design and entered the stage of comprehensive construction preparation. After joint inspection, P3, P4, P5 and H1A passed the acceptance and passed the construction conditions. As can be seen from the satellite imagery, the contours of the Universal Studios Metro Station, Universal Hotel, City Avenue, and theme parks have all taken shape. In the next step, the Cultural Tourism Zone Management Committee will fully review the Universal Theme Park project and urge all projects within to start as soon as possible.

The first phase of the project includes a theme park, a retail, dining and entertainment complex - City Avenue, two theme resort hotels and a parking facility. The first phase covers an area of about 2 square meters. Kilometers, twice as many as Universal Studios Osaka, Japan, and nearly five of Universal Studios Singapore.

Turns out the Transformer coaster is not a clone of the Hulk and has a different layout based on some pictures posted by some of the construction agencies. Also Transformer area appears to have 4 ride based attractions.

Of note this photos don't reveal anything other than the scale of the resort campus Universal is creating with Chinese Partners.

In That aerial you can clearly see the layout of the park. The Minion land being the most obvious. From there you can pretty much place everything else.

Per the Chinese reports, construction will be done by the end of next year with a 2020 opening. The way that is being solved is certain sections were giving to different construction groups. The people doing transformers did Shanghai Disney. The people doing the JW areas is a different big construction group, etc.

Put me in the sceptical camp as it stands but would love to see it open by then - would be a hell of an effort.

Technically if it faces no delays it’s on a timeframe like Shanghai where they aimed for end of the year. Like Shanghai though I am certain it will face delays and won’t be open until 2021.

Checking the Universal Creative Job Postings...it looks like they may be already starting to get people lined up for the second park and expansion plots for this resort.

HUGE INFORMATION DUMP

1. Hotels
Some plans and permits for the two initial hotels have dropped. According to market analysis data, it is expected that the opening of the core area of Universal Beijing Tourism Resort will attract 9.8 million visitors, including 4.8 million overnight visitors. Therefore, in order to meet the accommodation needs of overnight visitors, the Universal Theme Park Phase 1 will contain two major hotel projects (1x super 5 star, 1x 4 star hotel.)

162s000504q76q6q0928.jpg

First and foremost is the Super 5 star Nuojin Hotel
It is understood that Nuojin Resort Hotel is the super five-star top hotel brand. The hotel will distinctively Chinese while at the same time being modern, green, and luxurious.
The project covers an area of 90,100 square meters (22 acres), with a total investment of 228,800,000 yuan, which is 33 million USD!

162r000700210oqq62n7.jpg

Consisting of two multi-story hotels and supporting building , the hotel room area is located on the west side of the site, divided into the north and south buildings, with 6 floors above ground.

After the project is completed, it is expected that the number of staff will reach 650 and the annual operation time will be 365 days.

There are staff quarters and canteens in the project area.

Moreover, what is seen is only the first phase of the project, and there is a 59,593 m2 (15 acre) building area reserved for the second phase of construction.

Universal Beijing Hotel
162r00070023n2q1sn03.jpg

The project is built between a global theme park on the north, with the city avenue in the south. West of it will be a current vacant lot in the west, and to the east side through a landscape bridge, adjacent to the super five-star hotel (Nuojin Resort Hotel). Guests will enter the south side of the hotel.

Universal Hotel is designed as a four-star resort-style hotel building. It is a high-rise public building with a commercial nature. It consists of a polygonal tower and support building with a total construction area of 92,106 square meters. Ten floors will be above ground, with one floor underground.
The Universal Hotel features areas for guests and businesses, including guest rooms, lobby and public rooms, logistics and equipment rooms, and parking garages and civil defense projects.

After the completion of the project, it is expected that the number of staff will reach 750 and the annual operation time will be 365 days.

There are staff quarters and canteens in the project area.

The total investment of the Universal Hotel Beijing project is estimated to be 1,978 420,000 yuan which is 284,296,579.90 USD.

2. CityWalk Construction
Universal City Avenue will be 15 acres and construction will last 619 days at the latest (August 9, 2020). It officially started on November 29 after approval from the city of Beijing.

3. Xi Jin Ping
It turns out this project isn't just a theme park resort but a key directive of Xi Jin Ping who sent some members of government to observe the site. Cai Qi, Secretary of Municipal Committee toured the construction site of the Beijing Universal Theme Resort and stressed must adhere to high standards, adopt advanced technology and integrate more Chinese elements to provide a better tourist experience. All work/construction must strive for first-class and high-level work.
Beijing Universal Studios Theme Park is major industrial project in the sub-center of the city, which plays an important supporting role in realizing the sub-center cultural tourism function. The creation of this theme park vastly changes the livelihoods of those within the Tongzhou area of the city and is a heavy boost to the local economy so it's success is critical in continuing of Xi Jin Ping's plans of to revitalizes areas of the city. It was also stated by the government official stressed to those working and creating Universal Beijing resort that it is 100% necessary for Beijing Universal resort to open on schedule with no delays or incomplete and to begin working on other areas within the resort in the most expeditious manner.
