I have just confirmed through a very reliable source that there will NOT be drones in the show. It was also confirmed to me, however that the show will be bigger and different than any show Universal has ever done.

Sounds good. Did your source say anything about the premiere date of the show?

That might be a new firing location for pyro, but I believe what we may be seeing is roofing materials....which is far less interesting haha

End of June.

“Different than anything they’ve done before” is what I heard as well

This is certainly still going to be focused on movies though, right?

Hope this is good.

If this turns out to be a garbage show, I expect Universal to fix the park and put back all the grass so I actually have a place to relax in USF again!

That's a good point. They could close the path for 5mins and it would be a great spectacle, made better if they played Flight of the Valkyries as 100s of drones fly over head. Here's the location I meant for anybody curious:

The weird fence on the roof is most likely a fireworks launch area.

The rectangle “material” is nothing more than plywood over the holes where the air conditioning units go.

The “fence” is a parapet wall to hide the ac units.

This is nothing.

Yes, but not in the way they have done before. This is going to be their first true real end of day nighttime show and not just a clip show.

Good. The evening clip shows are entertaining but get old pretty quick.

The Lagoon level will be raised back to its normal level which will submerge the stage

So I guess the question then becomes this: how do you incorporate your classic (live action) movie properties without resorting to just showing clips and montages?

With the animated movies and CGI-heavy movies, it's easier (you can actually animate new content), but with a classic like JAWS or BACK TO THE FUTURE, how do you bring that into the show?

A drone Delores flying around or simply projecting it onto a building to add depth to the show.
For Jaws, Project Amityville onto the surrounding buildings and have a AA shark (or one on those moving boats with most screens) jump around the lagoon or attack a boat moored in the lake.

I mean, that would be great. I guess I'm just not expecting something quite that ambitious.

I wouldn’t either, but there are ways to do it. I can see the projections onto buildings being a big part of the show though.

I think Happily Ever After is a prime example of how to incorporate many movies into a similar sequence without it becoming a clip show

I think we need to look at Universal Spectacle for a minute, as that alone seems to be using custom-made footage for the new parade, while also being a best of in it's own unique sense.
