Looking at the art more and I find myself being more excited each time. The carved monsters within the center tree and faded beautiful murals in the background could be absolutely beautiful in person, and the weapons corner is such a fun touch. Mythos mixed with monsters is a perfect way to put it. I think the entire land can be very beautiful while still having a haunting feeling.

Can we PLEASE stop comparing rides to justify a ride. "donkey kong is EU's 7DMT" "DK is this parks hagrid". . . Why can it have it's OWN identity? Why cant DK be just. . . DK? The ride is looking far too unique and original to be reduced to a second rate version of an existing coaster.

Whew, I feel better now. . .

I don't think anybody is comparing the coasters being designed for EU to existing rides in an effort to diminish or justify them. I think the comparison's are there because we have not seen anything like these coasters before (DK), and some have elements that are still a mystery (Harry Potter). So we need a starting point for a frame of reference. And I don't think we are prejudging these coasters. It's more like we are shaking the presents under the Christmas tree to get a hint of what might be in store.

We are curious and impatient. But none of the speculation is malicious. It's just a way of passing the time until we get more information (or EU "Christmas", whichever comes first).

It does help to categorize things a bit, specifically on thrill level, that's not saying it's going to have the same end result as an existing attraction.

But I certainly don't like using an already established ride that was a bit of a disappointment to bash a ride that hasn't been ridden yet.

DK will probably have some similar sensations as SDMT to be totally honest

If the Monsters coaster doesn't end up being something I can ride, I'll be even more unimpressed with the show getting swapped-out than I already am.

My comparison of DK to SDMT only relates to its impending popularity and appeal to all ages.....and it being a super well known and popular IP that spans multiple generations from Boomers to Gen Z. Visually this thing will be stunning....people will be drawn to it like a moth to a flame.:fire:

It seems like a theater at WW is still being built. Hoping its a Twister-esque/Bourne show with special effects versus the VR idea.

But what if the show wouldn't have been good? You'd rather have a bad show than a ride you possibly can't enjoy?

Brian, the imagined loss is greater than the actual gain.

I think a family friendly coaster versus a show is probably a wise decision. I think the younger kids demographic is overlooked in Universal's parks.

Should be their focus for the next additions to IOA/USF.

Even though I was initially disappointed about the theater being replaced as well I think they made the right choice as well.

In my opinion shows are somewhat more risky venture now days. If expansion of the land ever comes to fruition I think in the end it will up end up being most one of the most well rounded areas of the park.

Based on permits, it certainly appears to be a sit-down theater show.

I mean, that hypothetical scenario is entirely a lose/lose for me! Do I want junk or do I want nothing? That's a difficult one!

But we don't know what the quality of the proposed show might have been (other than that concept art, which may not have told us much), but I'd certainly rather have more things in the park I might possibly enjoy and fewer things I know I won't ride.

And in fairness, we don't know for certain what this coaster is yet, either.

as I've said previously. Though I'd love a live show in the Monsters Land, it's termination is probably the best move. Universal Florida has a really bad track record keeping large theaters open. With Live
Theater areas in Potter & Dragons, two shows is probably the max they'd keep running. If there were three large theaters, like in the original plans, at least one would probably be shut down within a year or two.
Then we'd be stuck with an empty place with no attraction. Plus, Universal writers have a bad habit of writing too much corn into their large theater shows, another reason for their quick disappearance.

Street entertainment would be a much better idea overall. Universal has found their niche with smaller, more "spontaneous" shows that people can find in the streets than a formal sit down show.
