Yeah, it comes down to the fact that Harry Potter has changed the game for good. Universal doesn't have to worry about generating demand for their parks as long as they keep spending to keep the attractions and IP fresh/current. Universal has enough "mind share" now that it gets its percentage of guests no matter what Disney does.I'm not sure what Disney could do that would ruin a 4th gate - guests are now visiting Orlando with both resorts in mind, so unless Disney has something so incredibly expensive and loved that guests will just avoid Universal, I don't see Universal regretting expanding their current offerings...
Well...it will be a bad thing for Universal's ROI, let's put it that way.
Sort of like Japan bombing Pearl Harbor.
Did I write something that offended you? It's just an analogy.....stop. Just,
Disney and the rest of the world knows the Universal 4th gate is coming...Look, I can't say much. But, the Star Wars Hotel is a guinea pig, for a mind blowing project that hasn't leaked yet. (And 100x greater in scope than the hotel.)
Again, Disney feels they won't need to build it in Orlando unless Universal announces their 4th gate. It is currently planned to be built in Anaheim, regardless of Universal, but dependent on the success of the Star Wars Hotel.
?If you are talking about that old 'boutique' theme park concept, you're crazy to think it'll ruin Universal.
It's not.If you are talking about that old 'boutique' theme park concept, you're crazy to think it'll ruin Universal.

I'm not saying it's going to ruin Universal! All I'm saying is that another park costs a ton of money. If 2 open around the same time, and one is significantly better than the other, well one is going to probably have a harder time breaking even, which could stall future development. That's all.

Yeah IMO the planned IPs for the fourth gate crush anything Disney has up their sleeve. A Pokémon land would bring far more people than anything Disney could do.It's not.

Disney has quite the genius idea, taking hotel and theme park integration to a whole new level.Like AK and IOA? or DHS and USF?
