That's what I was assuming as well - I thought maybe they'd do some meet and greets where the old Shrek M&G was. But.. maybe that ends up as your banana split window idea, lol

I’m hoping over time it means getting rid of the Despicable Me ride and starting from scratch with either a new DM ride or a new ride based on another Illumination property with at minimum the building being gutted.

I'd like the ride updated

Its very cute but think it could be where you still get changed into a minion but with update animation and other characters. This came out before the sequels and just would not mind it being updated World wide

I miss the 3D on Minion Mayhem. Bring it back. Without it the ride quite frankly doesn't work.

I didn’t say start work tomorrow. I said hopefully *over time* they get around to replacing what will be a 40+ year old ride system once we get into the 2030’s.

USF obviously has many more pressing needs before getting to DMMM, but I think sometime in the 2030’s you’re looking at the end of its lifespan.

Minion Mayhem is one of a number of pure simulators in the park, and -- just beating out the Simpsons ride system -- it's the oldest one in the park.

The Despicable Me characters (to say nothing of a number of other IPs) could easily lend themselves to the dark ride format, and VillainCon will still have screen-based hijinks for those who desire such things.

As badly as I want a DM/Minions Dark ride, I’m sure that building is way too tiny for that. Wouldn’t they have to gut it and then somehow add to it?

Expanding it wouldn’t be out of the question if they were to take HRRR out sometime going forward so that they can expand the park into some of the soundstage area (at least the old Nickelodeon area).

Not a fan of Minion Mayhem. The ride mechanism is very old and tired and the movie isn't great. The ip deserves a quality dark ride like SloP. The space could be there if they went multi level and they went over the street. If they don't want to do that they could do something Efteling is doing with Dance Macabre with mixed media (screens, sets and AA's).

The most I can see them doing is replacing the ride system. That's it. Minion Mayhem is extremely popular.

Other than the wait time (can they fit a 2nd theatre?), I love Minion Mayhem. A dark ride would obviously but great but the film captures the humor and charm from the movies very well. I love it, so I’m hoping VillainCon can be a sneaky hit.

What cracks me up is this is the only original (non-clone) attraction either of the 2 majors are opening in their domestic parks this year.

2023: Attack of the Clones!
