I disagree. It can easily be argued Discovery cove is a water park but due to the unique amenties, people wouldn't dare put that moniker on there. We truly don't know what the park has and I remember people prejudged the park when the layout came out and then the next day when we actually got news about the attractions it became a totally different story with people back tracking. It is time to just wait.

Discovery Cove is a smaller park that has animal interaction. If you go anywhere you pay a pretty penny for animal interaction. Which is why they charge what they charge and get that kind of money.

Yes VB has some great slides, I will give it that. It has a good theme, but probably on the same par as the Disney parks from what I can see so far. It will have an edge at night, but we need to see how long it will be open into the night to judge that. So unless they add something unique like food and drinks included, it is going to be very hard to get a family to pay $40 to $50 extra over other water parks in the area. They are not going to see the value. Some of the theme park people like you may see how cool the slides are over Disney, but the GP may not. My friend picked TL over the other parks because it looked more relaxing and the slides were open and not tubes. People pick water parks many ways and price point is one way.

I imagine they could price it high to make it look like more of a bargain if they were to offer package deals or 'big' discounts to hotel guest.

I think we'll see tickets around $72-75 for a single day ticket. Discounted to $57-60 as an add on to a multi-park ticket or AP holders.

Yeah, but I read (trump speak) that they will be promoting "romance" parties on the beach with the volcano still blowing lava, but all other lights off. Guests can go wild with anyone. What fun.

Taking this one step further, WDW is going to start an Unobtanium level pass to synergize with the opening of Pandora.

So a Volcano Bay orgy? I guess that is the natural next step for nighttime shows

I fully expect prices to be in line with IOA/USF for this park, mostly to force peoples hands into buying a 3-day/3-park ticket if they want to go to VB, which basically takes another day away from WDW.

As a tourist, I'm not really interested in single day admission. I'm going to assume there will be a 14 day 3 park ticket.

Finally, Iv'e been expecting this update this week.

Here is the facebook post, some of the pictures of the slides give a good idea of what is left (click the photo to see the rest):

Good view of the slides exiting from bioreconstruct. I wonder what that large building is going to be for on the left of the white slide, not worked it out yet.

And finally some new MickeyXtreme Aerials:

No they'll be using the Unobtanium Pass for Frozen Ever After because you will be unable to obtain a FP+ unless you're staying on property and are at your computer 60 days in advance.

Watching Princess Snoflake sob inconsolably as her Unobtainium FP+ floats off will be worth the price of admission.

I want to make a Note. That green family Raft slide under construction near Cabana is HUGE. This video or photos do no justice. The pieces are freaking massive and I love it.

I'm sure this was touched on earlier in the thread, but I'm shocked that Universal is calling this their third theme park. I always assumed the water theme park moniker was similar to WWoHP's "theme park inside a theme park" thing - poorly phrased hyperbole.

But, people are going to be expecting to treat this like the other two parks, even if it's a lot smaller. The more I read about this, the more I think that Volcano Bay is going to be Universal's Discovery Cove. I think it'll cost a lot more than people think and have a much smaller capacity than people think. But, the food, service, and relative peace will make the experience worth it for those that can afford it.

I doubt this will be as good of a value as discovery cove. I mean you get drinks and food included. Universal would charge $100 without those things just because they can.

It's just marketing. It didn't hurt before, it won't hurt now.

Yeah, it has hurt them before. Universal marketing has hit quite a few walls in the past 16 years.

That was pretty bad. It was a close rival to the "New Coke" marketing campaign.
