First post. Unfortunately I'll be a month to early for Volcano Bay when I visit Orlando late April. But I keep an eye on the construction, praying for a soft opening ;)

Aren't they gonna add a bluish color to the lazy river? This concrete color isn't very attractive with water in it.

The recent aerials from Mickey Xtreme are great, shame there were none from the wave pool/ CB side but hey im not complaining! Looked like they are testing the green and yellow family slides too.

Ever since they did the test they put the scaffolding back up numerous times around that area. Im sure they will sort it pretty swiftly.

What you don't like the look of swimming in swamp water ?! LOL I kid. I assume they will indeed change the color of the lazy rivers. One reason being because a dark color is dangerous and makes it harder to see people in the water.

So I've heard that media days for Pandora and Volacon Bay could very well be on the same day. Which will they choose? I would go with Volcano Bay!

I feel like Disney moving the media day so close to VB's was a really tacky move that does nothing other than to show their greed. I hope people pick VB just to send Disney a message. I personally also think this is going to backfire on Disney. Why not choose a different week where you're guaranteed to have more attendance instead of competing with VB ? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Pandora's Media Day will be the same as the Opening Day of VB. VB is throughout the entire week, so that could be a bit more vague.

While Disney's move looks pretty petty, in the national and international media, the double tap will be good for "Orlando".

I think over the next few years, there is going to be a seismic paradigm shift as to how people visit Orlando. We are now to the point that there are too many "must do" parks/attractions for domestic visitors to do in a single one week vacation. So they are having to choose, Disney OR Universal. And I see, that a lot of people are now base camping at a Universal resort and doing day trips to Disney. Such things were unthinkable not long ago.

It wasn't that long ago that Uni had 3 hotels that usually had vacancies.

Yep. As I said the other day, first time I stayed on site at Universal was at Portofino in late April/early May 2011. I was there for a week and the hotel was almost empty. Now I need to book six months ahead to get a stay of one to two weeks at Portofino in May or October. Times have certainly changed. And there's almost three times as many rooms available now.

And wouldn't fathom attempting to get $350-400 rooms in the summer. Now its commonplace. The demand is there- they desperately need supply and are building as fast as their tiny plot of land allows.
