Heck, even Teebin didn't know, and he saw the park plans a year before the project was announced. :)

There's a lot happening. VB, Avatar, SWL, TSL... there's a lot to see from up there right now.

I'd be shocked if bio went up and only went over VB so i'd think we may end up with some Avatar and SWL aerials from him soon too.

This is surely one of the Golden Ages of being an Orlando theme park fan. So much really great stuff happening in the next few years. Orlando tourism is going to boom (short of an economic recession) and both Disney & Universal will feed off of each others expansions. A win win for both brands, and their fans.

My big fear with this era is that other factors could lead to a decline in the parks and I hope the operators don't think that heavy investment isn't worth it.

Question for anyone that can answer it to the best of their knowledge:

What are the talks of ticket prices for VB? I read somewhere that single day tickets could be as high as $125 and that Universal is really pushing the multi-day tickets. Is this something that won't be found out until opening day gets closer?

That rumor was refuted by Universal. Nothing official on prices at this time.

I would not be surprised if they didn't offer day tickets til they see what the multi day sales are. If they can fill the park with those they don't need the daily's. APs are in the same boat. Couple of months to go so lets see if they make this a boutique park, if it works then I need to plan a trip not just a day or two.

Yes. The demand might be pretty high for opening through middle of August. I would imagine capacity is not too high, somewhere in the vicinity of 5,000 to 10,000 at the very most. So ticket sales will be tricky & maybe hard to get a handle on..... But, then it's kind of a new ball game after that. This will be interesting to watch. A predominant water theme park probably has more ebb & flow than a regular theme park. Look at the sometimes really short lines for IOA water rides from late Nov. through Feb. except for the holidays.

That was my question...How much can this park hold? Considering CB is literally within walking distance..I imagine they would try to clamp down on tickets a bit, especially with no queues

2015 stats per TEA/AECOM:

Typhoon: 2,294,000
Blizzard: 2,107,000
Aquatica: 1,600,000
Wet n Wild: 1,310,000

That comes out a daily average of...(ignoring their seasonal closures)

Typhoon: 6,284
Blizzard: 5,772
Aquatica: 4,383
Wet n Wild: 3,589

So i'd say at minimum they want 3,500 people there per day, on the high end they'd like 6,000+. The two parks it's attached to have 26-24k guests each day. Say like half those people are shared park hopper and the actual "bodies boppin about" is like 36k then they want at minimum to snag like 10% of those people, 15-20% and they're rolling in the dough.

my guess would be if WnW did 3500 a day an onsite water park would do closer to 5000-6000 a day

This may well be the most photos & aerial views of any theme park expansion ever on OU. The sheer amount of photos is absolutely amazing. That may well portend over the top success of VB if this is any indication of the interest out there.

$35 helicopter rides from across I4 probably help with that too. That was my plan until alcohol happened. :lmao:

Visiting this thread has literally become an addiction. I wonder if actually visiting VB will invoke the same feeling of excitement I get reading new updates here.

But you have to take into account seasonal closures. TL and BB are 9 month parks compared to full year parks like Wet n Wild and Aquatica. That drastically increases your count for TL & BB by roughly 25%.

Let's also take into account that the TEA/AECOM attendance numbers are just made up and don't reflect what the actual attendance numbers are because the parks don't release those publicly.

Yes, I think most of us understand that.

But it's the closest thing we have to work with.

I would agree with this. It puts their daily attendance more in the 8,000 range.
I really think that long term VB is aiming for similar numbers. You don't build 5 slides with 4+ person tubes if you aren't expecting lots of people.

Uni hopes this becomes the most visited water park. They'll have the wet n wild attendance + those that see this as a better value from the other water parks + on site guests

Especially onsite guests big time. I don't think many of them ever ventured to the Wet & Wild side of the world.
