Same. I was hoping it wasn't true and my girlfriend was just messing with me since there were like 180 people in the park that day.

To be fair though, we would hang out in there and other guests didn't seem to realize Vol was a live character.

We were there last Saturday and I said "let's go see Vol." My girlfriend said "uhh, they got rid of him like a month ago." She doesn't pay attention to theme park stuff nearly as much as I do and I hadn't heard of this at all. I did a quick google and couldn't find anything about this. We walked over and sure enough, no projections were going and the water feature wasn't even on.

Later I had a drink with a friend from entertainment and he confirmed Vol isn't a thing anymore.

Yeah Vol went away but it sucks they also turned off the water features. That makes no sense!

Also heard from a friend inside the parks, hadn’t realized it was that long ago now though. They did also mention that it was done without warning and that no one had really covered it yet

Wow, major bummer. I get not staffing the live performer if the park is dead, but at least let the Vol projection and water effects run on a loop like they do with the Mr. Potato Head animatronic.

Really? I had been told they have a sort of "default" loop where the figure will avoid the interactive elements and just spiel/do the songs.

So just to confirm, the Kala and Tal Nul body slides have been closed since 2021(?) and still aren't open?

Correct - it's just Tai Nui (green) that has been closed for a while.

I got different stories from the employees while I was there in Sept 24. One was there is currently a court case going on involving that specific slide. Don't know if its true though.

Yeah, the trap door slides are legitimately scary (in a good way!) but a couple of them can really beat the snot out of you (in a bad way!)

Ahhh, now I’m recollecting which slides they are. I had some crossed…

Now that I know what we’re talking about - I’m not surprised at all. I rode these once…and it beat the snot out of me in a bad way. Nothing major but enough to say I’m not climbing that volcano again.

The park will be 10 years old in 2 years, so hopefully they'll finally get to an expansion by then.

I wonder if the issues they've had with the slides is a factor in why we haven't seen any expansions yet. I'd imagine they're going to be more cautious before they add any more slides.

Was this hidden down a path somewhere? The Mystic Fountain still gets a decent crowd frequently but it's easy to spot it passing by, and once a couple of people gather more follow. Was the placement of Vol not as accessible or visible?

Yes, on the path along the volcano side of the wave pool/waterfalls, on the side nearest the water coaster. It’s inside the volcano, was fun to hang around for a few minutes.

Yeah - you had to enter the volcano in a very specific spot. It's a shame that so many people missed it - there are some cool TapuTapu points in there as well.
