Hello everyone! If any of you are like me at all, you're at least a little excited for and more than a little curious about the new park that opened May 25th. I thought I would throw together this overview so that you could get a sense of the attractions, their names, where they are, how TapuTapu works, etc., all by pairing officially released information and images with photos that have been taken by some of the local bloggers. To start, be sure to check out both of these overview videos:

DArdqbDXUAAHs7_.jpg

Water is Life. Life is Joy. That’s the carefree attitude the fabled Waturi islanders have embraced on their Pacific isle for centuries. Now you can live the Waturi way at Universal’s Volcano Bay™, an all-new park where thrills and relaxation flow in perfect harmony. With the power of the TapuTapu™ wearable there’s no standing in long lines, wrestling with tubes, or waiting for the fun to begin.

At the heart of the island stands Krakatau™, the mighty Fire and Water Volcano. Towering 200 feet above the tropical landscape, Krakatau streams waterfalls during the day and fiery lava effects at night. Inside the cavernous volcano the Waturi people dare you to brave a variety of heart-pounding water slides.

Ko’okiri Body Plunge
Join in the centuries-old tradition of honoring the volcano god, Vol, by braving the incredible Ko’okiri Body Plunge. Featuring a 70-degree fall through a drop door and 125 feet of screaming, white-knuckle fun, this dizzying descent ends with a watery tribute from Vol himself. It will be the world’s first slide to travel through a pool filled with guests.
Must be 48" tall to ride.

This peaceful escape overlooks the sparkling waters of Waturi Beach at the base of the volcano.

Waturi Beach
Locals know — the surf’s always up at Waturi Beach. Swim, splash and relax right along with them in the sparkling waters and warm waves of this sparkling lagoon at the foot of mighty Krakatau™. A sparkling, multi-directional wave pool where you can swim, relax on the sand or indulge in private, one- or two-story cabanas.

The Reef
Watch the bravest Waturi take the Ko’okiri Body Plunge from the comfort of this peaceful leisure pool. Its clear plexi tube shoots straight through this 5.5-foot-deep pool, which features its own private waterfall that’s perfect for frolicking.

The scenic River Village has fun for people of all ages, including the very youngest Waturi.

Honu ika Moana
Honu

Experience the twists and turns of underwater currents just like Honu, the sea turtle. Hang on tight as the raft sweeps up two massive walls, through ocean mists and down into sparkling pools in this thrilling adventure.
Must be 48” tall to ride.
ika Moana

Ride the waves like the ancient Waturi did, twisting and turning along the waterway. Ika Moana, the whale, joyfully sprays water from his blowhole before everyone splashes down together in the waters below.
42"- 48" tall must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.

Tot Tiki Reef + Runamukka Reef
Once an exotic coral reef beneath the ocean, Runamukka Reef is now a favorite play place for young Waturi children with its bubbling geysers, water guns, slides and dump cups. Shaded by fanciful bamboo sea creatures and waving seaweed, it’s the most playful spot in Universal’s Volcano Bay™.

Even the youngest Waturi can get in on the fun in the shallows of Tot Tiki Reef. Play among splashy slides, a tot-sized water volcano and a family of friendly tikis with spraying fountains. Plus, adorable whales spray and sing as kids raise and lower their hands.
Maximum of 48”

Take a slow ride on the Kopiko Wai Winding River. Sprays of water surprise along the way, and beneath the lava rocks, Stargazer’s Cavern reveals the magical night sky above.

Rainforest Village stretches along the shores of an action-packed river and features the perfect mix of relaxation and exhilaration.

Ohyah + Ohno Drop Slides
Test your mettle and get into the Waturi spirit. Ascend cliff side and plummet down the twisting waters of Ohyah before dropping out four feet above the pool below. To achieve even greater bragging rights, brave the rope bridge and plunge down Ohno, a serpentine adventure that ends six feet above the pool below. Be sure to yell your battle cry on the way down.
Must be 48” tall to ride.

Maku Puihi Raft Rides
Ready for the high adventure of the Maku Puihi lava tubes? This six-person rafting adventure is a favorite of Waturi families, but it’s not for the faint of heart. Choose one of two paths or try them both—just be ready for a thrilling ride. On Maku riders slide through a deep volcanic gorge before spinning wildly around bowl-like formations. Geysers shoot water everywhere before a watery vortex pulls riders through more wild, twisting curves. Test your bravery on Puihi as your raft careens through a dark, winding tunnel before it explodes out into a massive funnel formation. You’ll feel the stomach-flipping thrill of a zero-gravity hang time before splashing your way to safety at the bottom.

TeAwa The Fearless River
Up for an adventure? Take a thrilling whitewater ride along TeAwa The Fearless River. Race along a roaring, watery onslaught of churning rapids and choppy waves hanging tight to your inner tube.

DA_2Sv3W0AIY8z2.jpg

Taniwha Tubes
There’s a place where the puka trees grow abnormally tall. Inspired by their twisting roots, the Waturi built four twisting water slides called the Taniwha Tubes. Riders can try all four twisting tracks, but beware — mischievous tiki statues spray jets of water when you least expect it.
42"- 48" tall must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.

It's an LCD screen, Krakatau could easily change to the name of the slide you are due to ride, from there it's just a simple job of follow the signposts.

You might want to add that Travel Agency video from 12th Man that was just posted on the regular VB thread. It's pretty good.

Hello everyone! Many of you have probably already seen my big overview post over in the Volcano Bay Construction thread, but, wouldn't you know it, I had the bright idea to include screenshots from the full reveal video released back in November. Considering that a single post can't include more than twenty images, I figured I would just separate this out into its own thread and multiple posts where it'll be easier to access and edit for updates. So to get started, be sure to check out both of these overview videos!
