I highly doubt the two have ever met unless they are both face characters in entertainment. I know when I worked for the Mouse, I wouldn't be identifiable to anyone outside of Watercraft.

I can see turning down being the "star" of any future ride video, but I don't see the reason why he couldn't do cameos for ride videos or pictures for merchandise and such.

Just what I was thinking.

Also 3-4 30 sec voice spots (No need to dress up.) for the queue/ride and dump him 1 million and he will do it. Saying you won’t want to do something is a good way to help your agent with $$. Also they could have already pre-took promotion pics for future use. They knew b4 phase 1 opened that there would be a phase 2. So if they were smart they would already have used DR for phase 2 and locked it away. A few years back they could have took 300 pics for future use.

Also let’s not forget they could use film footage for ads and promos.

I'm sure all will be fine.

Stating the obvious, but the scaffolding is for theming work.

Bobwadd, what material might they be applying to the raw concrete in order to smooth it out? Note the visible scoring in the material in pictures yesterday. I didn't see any evidence of steel lathe being applied first so I am curious what can be applied and stick so well.

It happened between photo updates I guess. Lathe inspection was Tuesday for the segment that first had scaffolding.

Contact _________ for a lath inspection for the wall and pilasters from pilasters 8 and 7

I'm going to die so hard when this opens... Just finished watching the entire Harry Potter series with my sister and my pillow might have contracted hypothermia from being doused for so long in tears.

Oh... thanks. That doesn't really make sense. Why would they need to inspect lathe on a wall?

Beyond this, it would make more sense that they haven't installed cornice work yet as you really wouldn't want to sculpt around it. I really want to see cornice work.

I don't know. I posted it a few days ago, but I guess it got lost in the shuffle.

And to think, how hard you died when Phase 1 opened.
I can't wait for some groundbreaking behind those walls within the next year.

Once cornices are put up, my vital signs will begin to steadily decrease... Here it begins, my friends.

I wanted to point something out, too. Check out the little snippet that I'm pretty sure ParkScope posted on here again:

potterwaterfront.jpg

The section at the top that houses those series of steps are pretty much obviously town home facades made to hide some sort of energy or water supply. I'm thinking something akin to this:

And perhaps these ideas for the main statue in the center (unless it's Nelson's column, in which case, YES as well):

Finally, some facades like these (scaled down, of course) NEED to happen. I don't care where, but they're a necessity (for me...):

I really want to say that, but Pancras and Diagon are already pushing it in terms of proximity. However, Hogsmeade and Hogwarts null that argument a bit, so it could be. :)

Yea, but the Albert Embankment isn't all that near those either, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Exactly, lol. This is like Streets of New York/Hollywood/San Francisco ordeal, so it's just a best-of amalgamation of London to give the general idea.

Another thing, we still need to think about how Platform 9 3/4 is going to work out... I'm guessing that as people 'board', they are invited to step through the wall between 9 and 10 in some way, but how this wall will work is... tricky. I'm already pretty sure each new group will step through and board after they wait in a queue within King's Cross. That much is clear.

As you now know, lathe is being applied. The inspection is required to make sure the lathe is properly fastened to the substrate.

Bonding agents are available to help mortar based products adhere to a concrete substrate. Although, I do not trust them and believe lathe is always substantially better.

Work has been crazy over the past couple of weeks and I am working again this weekend. I'm planning a photo excursion for next weekend.

Thanks Bob! BTW, did any of you see the park benches of Victoria Embankment? Not only are there winged lions, there are also sitting camel benches. So British Empire of the 1870's.
