I a guess but I think they build it indoors when they can to avoid delays due to weather. When they build it around the track it usually needs it due to the complexity, or its just Disney and they don't really worry about delays as they try and expand construction time.

I think both are also different kinds of coasters. See how it seems that they're erecting the building first at Snow White...

Massive facepalm at Screamscape's latest update:

(11/12/12) Want a sneak peek at what the London side of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter could look like? Some talented artists have drawn up their own ideas of what the land could look like, based on the leaked plans and artistic style of the films. One shows off a great aerial sketch of how the detailed land may look from the air, while the other is a computer simulated layout of how the maze of buildings within the London area may appear, creating an interested and cramped layout that appears to only have one major pathway in or out.

Next up are some spoilers about the two major attractions to be added, the Hogwats Express and Grincott’s Bank ride. According to this article at Spins The World, much as I’ve heard before, the train ride on the Hogwarts Express may very well be a surprise hit and far more thrilling than anyone expected. From the sound of things, Universal Creative have decided to take the ball from Disney’s Star Tours 2 project and create their own version of offering different possible storylines that you will encounter on your journey between the parks. The window screens will be aided by an arry of 4D theater technology gags to really drive the story home. One long rumored version of the ride would include a visit by the Dementors where the train would go dark and the cabin temperatures will drop as the windows frost up.

They also talk about a unqiue “elevator” simulator experience guests will go through before getting on the Gringottt’s Bank coaster.

Apparently citing original sources is too much work...... :saw:

i love lance and his updates, even if they are occasionally off the mark. granted, he should have spotted you guys the source. but still, that he is acknowledging this forum and its hypothetical concept art is fantastic. screamscape lends all of this posturing a kind of credibility no one anticipated. i'm excited that going on screamscape leads me back here.

Forget us. That's violarum's work. Not cool. The worst thing that can ever be done to an artist is discredit them.

in all fairness the actual article that is linked does mention the artists name. I just think it's funny that Screamscape linked a new story on something that has been floating around the net for months...

He really isn't as connected as he used to be. You can kind of tell he is just letting everyone else do the work for him at this point. The fact that he was so against TF is proof that he isn't really doing his job, and relying too much on what people tell him.

Idk about you guys but im certainly not taking credit for someone else's hard work and spent time. I love checking Screamscape, did it long before i found this place but come on man...Give credit where credit is rightly due.

I'm so flustered by seeing something I did so quickly end up in so many different places, first of all. It's really helped me feel better about my future as an architect and illustrator/designer, and it would not have happened were it not for this amazing community and its members.

In terms of crediting me, the site did state my name (which was mildly discomforting, but acceptable - I would still rather be referred to as "violarum" when it comes to any unprofessional work), but they completely left out Teebin's screen name, and there was no reference to OU. I feel as though OU should be primarily credited, and then each of us subsequently for our work.

Also, I believe Screamscape's owner is a good person with a lot of dedication towards his fandom, but it does get in his way sometimes when he cites incorrectly or when the information is simply uninformed speculation. He should hire a small team to help him sort out his news and keep the citations accurate (as well as a graphic designer to help him bring his website and overall look into 2012 *ahem*).

In other news, bobwadd deserves so many commendations for his shots.

Violarum, that work is still pretty impressive, even if you did throw it together quickly. Well done!

As far as Screamscape, I have been visiting his site since long before OU as well, and he actually directed me here during the Great Potter Buzz of '09 (I'm aware it was going on long before that, that's when I joined). I think the old layout of Screamscape is fine; it kind of puts the news first and the layout second. You understand where the priorities are.

And, by the way, you wouldn't happen to have any more of this fantastic work, would you?

Thank you! And I do (though I naturally can't agree that it's "fantastic"); check the link in my sig for some more stuff, but I do have some more theme park related works that I'm thinking of posting.

He hates us for calling him out and bashing him. He checks here daily and then reports new info on his site from spies within the business. 90% of the webs Universal info leaks here first, not that im proud or condone that kind of thing its just the way it is. And people who have been around or followed closely enough know that. This is a situation where we do all the work and someone else swoops in and takes all the credit. Nuff said.

On the other side of things I want to say thank you to Violarum for the amazing art, just about made me die... Also a huge thank you to our fellow members for giving huge praise to your fellow member for the amazing artwork. Violarum is just another reason we have the friendliest, most informative, and highest quality theme park specialty forum on the web.
