I know i'm going to catch a lot of heat for this but, I just hate the idea that there's going to be a phase II of Harry Potter. I love the Potter attraction at Islands but having another HP area at Uni is just not something i'm looking forward to. I know Potter sells but having attractions based on HP at both parks is just boring in my opinion and I thought they would use all that space for a fresh idea.

I felt this way at first, but then when I discovered what they would be doing, I got excited again. The fact that they are making a train that connects the two parks, and is also a ride is something completely new and exciting. I also like the idea of another dark ride/coaster hybrid. As universal seems to be on top of their game with these type of rides.

I understand where you're coming from...I'm not big on Harry Potter, but you have to look at it from the perspective of the resort as a whole. Just look at what Phase I did to the resort and what we're getting out of it. We have Transformers, Simpson's expansion, and a plethora of facelifts going on all at the same time because of what Potter did. Regardless if you're a fan of Potter, these attractions will be incredible.

If this expansion is just as successful as the first, Universal will have quite the future to add more non-potter attractions.

The awesomeness of being able to be transported from Hogsmede to London will be amazing and will really be a nice transition from the fantasy environment of IOA to the real world feel of the Studios...Also the environment of Diagon Alley will fit perfectly into Universal I believe...and there is a new state of the art coaster!

Well if there was any promise of an E-Ticket that didn't use Sorin technology I would probably be excited...but

why are you so against?
and it seems in the avatar thread, at least early on your for it or at least willing to give it a chance, what changed?

Do you guys think this expansion was always planned or talked about as part of a way to get the rights to Potter in the first place? Or do you think this expansion happened based soley on how well the first one did?

They knew this sucker was gonna do well, but obviously no decision was made until the land was opened. But yes, this was always in the works.

Put it this way, DisneyHead knew about the possibility of Phase 2 overtaking Jaws years ago.

Yup. They didn't move on Jaws until JK gave preliminary approval.

I tried to watch Avatar again and began getting information on what the project would end up being.

Initially, I was excited because it was SOMETHING coming. The more I thought about it, the more I soured on the project. Once legit info began coming out I lost any interest I had.

I think it was pretty conclusive before the permit. Just a little more evidence.

I would not expect it to be another Olivander's theme. I would as also thought that it will be more of a Weasley's theme and have a bit larger scale attraction to it in the sense of allowing more guests at a time and a bit longer show.
