If you haven't eaten there then you don't know. Its basically an extra $20 you would spend compared to buying a burger in any of the other venues, but double the quality.

Really? I ate a hamburger once there and didn't find it very good... it wasn't "bad" but compared to other places in the resort (Hard Rock and Margaritaville) It wasn't anything special, in my opinion at least.

Well I haven't tried the burger, but I was saying in general, for the extra $10 per person you are better off eating here than at one of the counter service places in the park and enjoy a better meal.

When it comes to other restaurants on property, believe it or not, I haven't eaten and not a single one of them. But on Disney property I've eaten at quite a few.

I second that.

Yes, the food wasn't incredibly gourmet-ish, but that's not what we were there for. It was tasty and not too heavy (served in a well air-conditioned environment). Perfect for a 100 degree/100% humidity day at a theme park.

It's a shame you didn't visit Mythos in its hayday, 2000-2001ish. We were doing a lot of creative, high-quality dishes that rivaled Emeril's. Alas, 9-11, the resulting recession and then GE's purchase of Universal changed that. The menu now, while still nice, is much more...run of the mill, shall we say (ie, lower food cost). We used to make our deserts and pastries in-house, but now they get those "desert shots" from the Production Kitchen pre-made.

sadly this happens to so many restaurants, once a place gets a following management lowers food quality to make more money.

Alright, let's move off of the Mythos menu. If you guys would like to continue discussing Mythos, please create a new thread for it.

agreed...so did anything come from those survey markers? I really think there isn't much to discuss until we hear something new from Universal. There has to be someone with some info out there.

Only info is that it is in the works, it's just a matter of what's going to be added, and when it will happen.

Exactly, its a forgone conclusion this will happen..I've said it before, where there is smoke, there is fire, and even Teebins sand cranes have mentioned some rumblings.

Hmm... about two weeks ago, two baby sand hill cranes that were born on the property next door almost a year ago were sent packing by their parents. One of them was sent west to meet with a very well known theme park design group on the west coast regarding a more distant pacific new project. The other, so it was hinted to me took an eastern flight of 6 hours or so... to propose/present a whole lot/small lot (I do not know) of somethings re: a non-sPACIFIC project. Said crane is hesitant about a breakfast of neeps and tatties for several days. The parent cranes maintain a constant presence in the area since I have lived here and appear to breed "industry" cranes. Have a nice day.

Soooooo if I get this correct, they sent one guy to go and work on Universal Singapore or Sensoa I think its what its called, or maybe the shelved Dubai project. The other was sent to London to meet with JK about plans for an expansion.

Meanwhile Thierry Coup stays home with the rest of the talent.

Close?

Oh yay, my first Teebin riddle! Sounds like they might actually be considering something in Singapore? I pray to God they wouldn't attempt an Asian version of Forbidden Journey. Chinese/Japanese Harry Potter (at least the dialouge) is just... Wrong... Wrong... xD... Consulting J.K. for sure, and it sounds like we are definitely getting some sort of expansion!

OK, Teebin beat me to it, but what I am hearing is that the plans are drawn up and have been presented to JK. They are waiting for her approval. The expansion plan presented includes one major attraction and at least one minor attraction. And that is all I know about it. I have no clue what the area will be or what any of the attractions concepts are.

Teebin, have you heard anything from the westbound crane? I hope he hasn't been Shanghaied
