If they expect to have Transformers open by 2013 in a new freestanding building, they'd have to start construction like now.

Something tells me we will hear something about Transformers, or another ride, when d23 rolls around in August. Until then, back to Potter talk.

For some of you that say you would dislike WW taking over so much of IOA, please remember that Jurassic has held the biggest footprint by quite a bit since the park opened. I am not sure that if WW took over all of LC it would be more land than JP. So now we are talking about "apparent" footprint. If WW has the largest "apparent" footprint then so what?

Look at the projects Uni is "rumored" and/or has announced to unveil for the entire resort since the WW. That ain't happening because pennies fell from heaven. The pennies have fallen from Potter. ;o)

And, if you think about it, if you sculpted the most beautiful stuff for the original IOA and were now out of work, and they called and told you, "we need you to come back and destroy everything you created 10 years ago and then work for two years creating something new and better and we will pay top dollar" what would the you, the sculptor do?

The dragons are gone... and I haven't heard a peep about them since the WW opened. Some of you please celebrate tearing great things down and building something better. Walt Disney did as I recall.

Um . . . What? That's . . . great?

Sorry, I haven't kept up with this thread. Like at all. So if there is some hidden meaning to your crying over Diagon Alley being mentioned in a thread about an expansion to wwohp, I'm sorry. Really. I'm confused. Just ignore me.

A friend of mine claims Mythos would be included in the Potter expansion, considered part of the new area, just not rethemed to it??? I don't know how the current theme would fit the Wizarding World, guess it depends what the expansion theme looks like.

I was saying I'd cry if Phase 2 was DA. I could give a million reasons why it's a horrible idea, but I really don't want to get into that again, so...

Mythos could work at the cavern where Voldemort hid the locket, but even then, the shape of the building and rockwork would be out of place.

Phase 2 is happenning its just a matter of how much it takes over, but if we lose something this good and get something much better in return, I wouldn't complain.

Teebin is right, we lost the dragons, everyone was sad, but now everyone is happier with what we have now.

There's not much I'd hate to lose at IOA for more Potter. Toon Lagoon is full of outdated characters and I don't give a rat's butt about water rides; too bad its not close enough to be razed for WWII. Just leave Marvel with Spidey and Hulk, get rid of anything else, and I'll be content.

^ Do not agree. More Potter is welcome but not at the cost of anything other than the street vendors/games of Lost Continent and the Sinbad show.

I'm just surprised Posideon's Fury seems like it'll make it through Phase I and Phase II. That attraction is indestructible.

I can't agree either. I love both Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park. I'd hate to see either lose anything.

With the talk of a 4th movie, I doubt JP will go anywhere. I wouldn't mind seeing some more added to it though.

As for Potter, Diagon Alley is probably the best choice for theme. What else could they use? Something tells me we won't see any "darker" themed areas.

And from rumors, Gringotts could be a roller coaster style ride. And there are more merchandise opportunities.

But how would they explain DA being so close to Hogsmeade?????? And WHY would they make pretty much the same thing as Phase 1, just with a new name and a different ride at the end??????? Am I the only one who sees this?????

No different opportunities than Hogsmeade has.

First off, you need to get off this whole "So close to Hogsmeade" schtick, it's a frickin' theme park. You are not "actually" supposed to be where the book/movies are, but in a theme park where the books come to life (Refer to story of IoA).

As far as DA, I'm sure Ollivanders will close up shop in Hogsmeade and will be expanded in the Alley. As far as other shops, there are other types of goodies/food that can be sold. Ice Cream/Soda shop, a place strictly for literature/souvenirs. Have the Leaky Cauldron serve different food then the 3 Broomsticks, Junk Shop can sell discounted items. It can be done. You really need to stop getting worked up over it. It's a theme park, it has needs, and because of the popularity of the land, you might see some duplicate stores as well.

Personally I would love if they would have the 2 branches of Ollivanders, I don't think there is any hurt to have both open. But DA is the natural idea of what to build because that gives them the most opportunity to expand, otherwise, as far as being close to each other, 1. its a theme park, 2. its a magical world, they could "open" up a portal for muggles to seamlessly visit both.

First off, I know I'm a bit a crazy about this, I really do go a little overboard when it comes to HP Phase 2. 2nd off, yes, they could open a portal, but how would you explain being able to see one from the other? One of the best parts of theme parks is having a good theme, both for the land and the entire park. Unless there's a way to explain it, it wrecks the theme of the area.
