I would think you would not see anything start to happen until 2014-15. I think they will ride this Potter for all they can for as long as they can.
Getting the people to come back for the update will be easier if some decent amount of time has passed. IMO

Well, the WWoHP was announced in '07 and didn't open until mid-June 2010. If we did hear something late 2011 - early 2012, an expansion wouldn't open until at least 2013.

I would think that with the final movie coming out in July would be the perfect time to announce an expansion while HP is really hot

I think they will try to time the expansion based off the timeline of Disney's fantasyland stuff. (Not a disney fan at all so I don't know the name of it) I think I read somewhere that Disney was shooting for 2014 as an opening date. Seems like a GREAT time to steal a little thunder and ensure if people come to Orlando to see Disney, the kids demand to go see the "new" Harry Potter stuff.

It also goes with the new commercials: "Because we have Harry Potter and they have princesses and a ride about midgets"

If I were them, I wouldn't even announce anything until 2013/14, to take thunder away from FE, and open it 2016/17. Also, by 2013 enough of the crowd going just to see Potter should have already gone, and so announcing the expansion wouldn't harm the Potter crowd by having them wanting to wait til Phase 2, since most of them will have already gone, and will still probably come back for Phase 2, giving Uni 2X the income.

I was browsing SnitchSeeker.com due to a new J.K. Rowling project/game that J.K Rowling is holding right now. In the thread, this was mentioned by a member:

I accosted the fellow that was walking us through the park and picked his brain for as much info as possible. He told me that on the anniversary of the park opening, there was going to be a big to-do, especially because it is in the contract with Jo that once DH Pt2 has been released, they must add something else DH related *to* the park!

We've known that something had to be added for DH and Teebin mentioned "getting a confirm that something specific is going on regarding expansion", but this is the first time that I've heard about anything happening on the anniversary of the WWoHP's opening (June 18th, 3 days away). The Weasley twins were also in the park recording something that is still unknown. I realize this is an employee/ VIP tour guide's statement and they aren't always reliable but I thought it was worth mentioning.

UPDATE: It appears that the ten-letter clue in Rowling's game has been discovered. When moved around it appears that it states "More Potter or Potter More" (probably the first). Rowling also stated that even though this new announcement is not a new book, it is something equally exciting.

It's sounding a little less like an expansion right now. The strongest rumors are now a HP encyclopedia or a social networking site.

Ditto. The second someone even brought up the WWoHP I did a :doh: and rushed over here with the suggestion/possibility. Sadly, it seems less likely now, but you never know.

I will be shocked if this is something big regarding expansion. My cat has lead me to believe they are still in the design/proposal blue sky stage. Any travels across the pond my cat has hinted at have been fact finding, "can we go here to this part of the potter universe and develop this idea" stuff. If new expansion contracts have been signed then I will be stymied. My sand hill cranes appear at a loss as well. They don't think anything of it.... and with that, they pooped in my driveway and flew off for the evening.
