It has been rumored and speculated that for the 50th anniversary of World's of Fun, the park would be investing in an all new rollercoaster. Speculation pointed to potentially a relocation of Dorney Park's planned Switchback, which would've been a Gravity Group project; but it has now since been discovered that GCI and Skyline are working on the attraction--as noticed with LinkedIn listings and interviews with members of GCI.

This is my home park, I don’t have my hopes too high for anything, considering our last coaster was more than a decade ago at this point. Happy to see it may not be a wooden coaster after all.

Should be intriguing to see if something comes, I'm totally fine with another GCI being added, though I kinda' hesitate with Skyline being involved since their track record hasn't been the best so far with anything big.

Out of all the CF additions announced, this one takes the cake for being the most off-the-wall. There have been cases of remade coasters, but nothing like this! Growing up I was able to ride the O.G. Zambezi Zinger, and it was one of my favorites. So I'm totally fine with GCI reimagining it, I think it'll make for a great family coaster and unlike Boomerang, it'll be a good replacement!

So, haunt event at Worlds of Fun (Worlds of Fear) was… actually… pretty good. At least
for a haunt-starved lunatic like me. Scenic was way better than I expected, and they have some good concepts. Half the houses (Blood on the Bayou; Bloodshed, Ripper Alley) were actually extremely good, I think. Blood on the Bayou, especially was amazing despite only have four performers.

Which was a thing…

Only a couple of the houses felt fully staffed. The other four felt… anemic casting-wise. The performances were quite good… there just was nowhere near enough.

The biggest nightmare was just basic park operations. No one really knew where anything else in the park was. Signage was lacking. Our biggest peeve was the park announcing the event starts at 6:30, but no scareactors were in the zones until 7 and one of the houses didn’t open until 7:30. Just… terrible management. Which sucks because… like the potential for a high quality event is THERE. It’s just the basics that seem to kill it.

Adding to this, went into the bayou house and on top of there only being 3 actors I saw, not a single one made any attempt to scare me, just looked at me in a “scary” way

However there were some decent scares in the pumpkin and scarecrow mazes.
I had a season pass this year due to going on a cedar point road trip, so the event was basically free, I don’t think it would be an event I would actually pay for though.

Continuing with the trend of closing rides with no announcements….

Gives me hope that this says 2025 which could be hinting at some kind of major RMC overhaul, but also you would think they would at least hint towards something bigger in the future Especially with the World Cup coming to town.
