A ride POV leaked on Twitter. Not sharing it here since apparently the figures/animatronics in the finale aren't there yet so the ride is still not finished. A lot of people are disappointed lol

No, the ride is finished. The POV video cuts off before the end of the ride.

Not going to judge the full experience...

...but based on the POV, the unthemed "tunnels" painted in black are embarrassing. I'm really hoping it stands out less in person and that Epic's is more grander interior-wise.

I was going to say, the ride better be finished after a nearly year-long delay, LOL.

I believe it's supposed to be a lot darker than that and the camera made it look brighter.

I’m going to reserve my judgment until we get an actual good POV with good lighting (or until I actually get to ride it…) but I think the people saying “don’t call it an E-ticket” were absolutely right. But that’s ok, it doesn’t need to be.

It's a D-ticket disguised as an E-ticket... just like Seven Dwarfs.

It's a family coaster with great theming and a "gimmick" to make it unique. Nowhere near the status of Everest/Hagrid's/GOTG/etc. However, this will have long lines due to its capacity and audience, just like 7DMT.

Descriptions of the rocking coaster cars, and the short track with a short indoor scene sound just like what Disney was saying before 7 Dwarfs opened. I'm betting it will be on that same entertainment level....Not a negative since I love 7 Dwarfs, just wish there was more to it. Sounds like Donkey Kong will leave us with the same 'wants more' feeling.

Watching the POV, I’ll give it some slack in terms of lighting, the poor camerawork, the fact actually sitting there in the cart is different than sitting on the couch watching it through a phone, etc., but I’ll still admit I’m bummed that a part of me thought, “I’d be okay with this never coming to Hollywood.” I can only imagine how all the people I know who’ve done Mario Kart and said, “That’s it?” would react to this after waiting 90+ minutes for it. Hopefully when I get to experience Epic’s version next year it’ll completely change my opinion, but for now I’m definitely saving Nintendo World for last on my to-do list at that park if this is kind of all there is to DK.

Obviously will need to ride DK before really judging it but It's a little disappointing how *both* rides turned out in my opinion. I came off Mario Kart thinking "well that was alright", and I'm sure many people who will ride not knowing what to expect (or expecting something different) will have the same reaction. Having the IP is both a blessing and a curse for Universal. The lands themselves came out GREAT, but you can tell Nintendo mandated a lot about the attractions (especially Mario Kart) with ideas that sounded better on paper. In my opinion of course.

Just saw the POV. I have to admit I was a little shocked at how bare bones those tunnel scenes were.

I know that watching a video on your phone is not the same as riding it but it looks like a glorified kiddie coaster. It looks like a good time and it will be a net positive for USJ and EU, but I’m not in a hurry to put this at USH. Still, this could’ve been better.

This is how I feel… honestly, we did Mario early access in Hollywood, which was good as it let us knock it out before the park opened, but as someone not willing to buy a band… we did the ride, enjoyed the beautiful land, met Toad, and enjoyed the rest of park after without ever returning to the land.

Mario Kart was just okay. Donkey Kong looks just okay. The lands themselves are gorgeous, but… it’s a lot of pretty stuff with little substance, for me. I wanted to ride Secret Life of Pets again, couldn’t be bothered with MK.

And I love Mario… Nintendo.

Super disappointing. It’s like they didn’t even try to hide the fake track illusion.

Both of these attractions should have been home runs and unfortunately it’s looking like neither of them are. Universal can and should do better.

Shocked, SHOCKED I SAY, to see the usuals being very dumb. Good job on forming an opinion of a ride from a video ripped from tiktok at cropped (that isn't even a complete video). This is embarassing.

Yeah, it's possible that these criticisms will be applicable to the attraction when we get a better look at it, but this was a very poor POV where the camera is pointed upwards to conceal filming. There is seemingly a character figure in the middle of the ride that the POV didn't even get to show.

As for the tunnel, I feel like we need to know how dark it actually is in person. The intent is for the moles to be in darkness, and then revealed by a spotlight when you are right near them. If the scene is actually as bright as it appears in the video, then I think the criticism is valid here, but we'll have to wait and see.

we’ve had the ride layout for years and people thought there was more to it?? It’s literally exactly what I thought it would be and that’s before I’ve ridden it. The complaints feel a bit premature esp since this isn’t even ours and none of us have ridden

A few things:

1. Aside from the one main dark tunnel scene, the level of detail looks great. I don't see how the track-jumping illusion will work based on the way the person is filming, though.
2. That "dark" tunnel scene is shockingly shoddy... in the lighting conditions of the video. I don't know how much better it plays in real life (because so much sunlight is pouring into that tunnel from both ends, I'm not sure how they can keep it as dark as it needs to be to avoid seeing what shouldn't be seen), but I have to believe it's not really going to look like that to the human eye in person. It better not, anyway!
3. Voicing a negative (or even mild) reaction to that video doesn't make anybody "dumb" or "embarrassing."

It looks like a very nice low D-ticket (assuming the "flaws" in that video aren't really indicative of the real on-ride experience).

I would wait on this take — video is very clearly filmed from the waist/lapbar and not an actual eye line.
