Thanks everyone for the welcome. The package mentioned substituting an attraction if FOH, FJ, DC are not open for any reason. Universal pretty much covered themselves by adding that disclaimer. Now how resort guests were suppose to have breakfast and enjoy the rides in an hour, who knows? It's pretty evident that everything was suppose to be open by now and it isn't. I really doubt FJ will be open in the next few days if it only ran for an hour or less today.

To be fair, it runs 8-10am, but even still, that's a slim amount of time for a family to eat breakfast that would probably be a 30-45 minute ordeal with kids, then ride three roller coasters and a new ride that will no doubt not dip below 120minutes for quite a while.

I think for me as a local and Pass Holder, the issue of feeling slighted is that there was no option for sale that had locals in mind. They should have had an option that included breakfast and the preview. As I do not need to get a hotel room 30 min from my house, and already have a pass for admission to the parks. They should have had an option similar to a character breakfast or something where the breakfast and preview could be purchased by themselves. This would have accommodated the locals. I think a lot of the sentiment towards the package holders stems from the fact that there really wasn't a feasible option available to locals.

I have to go to bed... I need to sleep this off... Plus I must be on time to work tomorrow so I can get as much done and leave early to head to Uni as early as possible. I'll be checking back here throughout the morning tomorrow. I'm hoping for the best, taking things as they come, and I'll try not to drive myself crazy with anticipation and frustration anymore. Goodnight!

And for the Potter fans, here's a little treat... It's sort of relevant to this thread, with all the speculation and waiting coming to an end soon, plus I just love the video and the song :P Enjoy:

The thing that you're not taking into account is that when the packages were assembled, the belief was the grand opening would be this weekend. Things got a tad behind schedule and sales were alerady made, so they have to honor them as they are basically a legally binding contract.

Don't. It's a new ride. I'd find it more worrisome if it *didn't* have issues. Much better to find the kinks and iron them out now than to find them years down the road when they could end up much worse.

Oh my gosh! You really think any kid going in as a package holder is a spoilded rich kid? What makes you thinik that? How about Harry Potter has been around for YEARS. The age span of fans is vast. I am really offended by your comment and my children wont be there until the grand opening and we don't have the HP package. Still, we will be there and they are Far from spoiled! I have been a single mother all their lives, continuted my education, working full time, providing for them. Early on they thought a Happy Meal was a great luxuary! We as a family, my children and I, have reached a place in life where we finally saved up enough to do this fantastic trip. How dare you assume kids who attend previews and such are spoiled brats. You need to realize not everything in life is fair. Goodness, my children already know this. Sorry, don't mean to sound rude but Goodness!

When did I say anithing about spoiled kids? Why are you quoting me???

Well what really intrigues me about all of this is DD/DC, they didn't close the ride except when they really really had to, because it takes two great rides away from the park(which has relatively few), so how is uni going to handle that??? My bet is that starting Saturday ( yes Saturday, because even if package holders arrive tomorrow the check in is not till 1or 3pm in most hotels so, they can't really take advantage of the early acces and the first night you could book was Friday night not today) they will just open the area to all guests. THey may close the shops restaurants and FH and FJ but leave the area open. The other solution may be to close the entire place for a couple of hours and then roll back the fake walls to make the passage to dueling dragons, but I personally don't see the point.

You have to remember not everyone sat through the lines starting at the first book and having to wait, and wait and wait for the nex and the next. Now there is a complete set of books. Actually, last Christmas I looked for a set of HP books. Not only could I not find a set but I couldn't even find One book! I was astonished! A few months later I did start to see the books show up again and bought two complete sets to make sure we had one to read over and over again and then another to keep nice for later.

lol I just realized I said july. whoops.

Im so sad about it all ending. I know the day they finish filming I will be crying for hours. I didnt have that reaction when DH the book came out but that was because I was not home, not at a midnight party like I did with ootp and hbp, was not home, no internet or really civilization contact (and yet still had the ending spoiled, go figure).
This island is incredible and I hope potter fans enjoy this as much as what Ive seen them do so far. Its well worth the wait.

oh and felipe, have you listened to RiddleTMs For Jo. Theres a youtube video that I think hptwilighter made. Its so sad. :'(

Hello everybody.

How are you? I'm doing fine.

I just wanted to remind you that complaining on the internet will always get you what you want, but haven't been promised.
Complaining on the phone will always get you what you want, but haven't been promised, and a special coupon.
Complaining in person will always get you what you want, but haven't been promised, and a very rare limited edition gift item as a token of appreciation autographed of course by J.K. Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe.

:'(

I don't feel bad for any of those of you who are whining about soft opening and pass holder previews.

I do feel bad for people who purchased HP travel packages in February with the assumption that the entire island would be open, including the hyped featured attraction, that is not yet ready for the package customers. There will be plenty of dissapointed people who spent a great deal more than the cost of an annual pass, but won't be getting what they thought they were purchasing. The average Orlando vaction for an out-of-state middle class family costs around three to four grand. Few of those people will have the time or finances to return later this year once the full land is fully functional.
So while Universal's legal jargon covers thier own liabilities, the packages in February were promoting a full land with 3 themed rides and other immersive attractions to to be open this spring. Which again, Universal is deceptively avoiding liability with a later announced Grand Opening 3 days before the summer solstice. I doubt Universal intended to falsely advertise the previews, and fully intended for things to be completely ready by Memorial Day weekend, but that didn't keep them from having a good team of lawyers retained to work with the marketing department, just in case things didn't go as planned. If you are still angry that these preview package people get to walk through Hogsmeade before you, ask yourself if it's really that important that you have the experience before anyone else, why didn't you just buy a package yourself? Living in Florida is not an excuse for special treatment. There were no restrictions preventing local residents from being package customers as well. Just be glad that you weren't hoodwinked into a lesser package than what the preview guests paid out the nose for.

So seriously, Suicide Kid, Money Bomb Kid, Gonna Die kid, and all the crybaby AP holders; chill out. You are going to have plenty of opportunities to enjoy TWWOHP in the very near future. A few days, weeks or even months or waiting will not hurt you when IOA is practically in your back yard. But for those who may have spent a few year's worth of savings to travel to UO for a special Harry Potter vacation, there is no few days, weeks or months later opportunity to return.

I do agree that it is very unfair that people who paid universal more money through this package deal get to see this thing first. Thats so rediculous. So the really big fans of this kind of thing have to sit back and watch these families with their spoiled kids enjoy something that we have probably been waiting for a lot longer. They really should have made it a priority for their AP holders to see this thing first. When and if they do finally have passholder previews its probably going to feel like a second hand garmet at that point. Universal sucks when it comes to equal oportunities, first with thier express pass and now this, just because the rich folks can dish out more money first, they are the first to see behind the curtain? Damn this sucks, I don't think I'm going to make the trip tomorrow. I'm not going to spend another 3 hours driving and spend $30 on gas again for nothing...

Grow Up! I work VERY hard for my money and if I want to take my kids, who are both straight A students to Universal I CAN and I WILL!!! Just because I am getting in before you, a AP holder, doesn't mean I am rich etc...it means that I am lucky, Universal doesn't owe eitther of us anything. I can also bet that with my untold riches and wealth I spend more in one week there than you spend all year. Seriously!! How dare you rant and rave?. YOU are the spoiled one here. Now I expect you are going to take your ball and leave the playground now.

--- Update ---

Oh yes, and another thing. I think you are forgetting that some of us have been fans of the books ( my family ) since day one. WE didn't wait unitl they were popular and jump on the HP bandwagon. No one knew about them, just a lonely few copies at Books A MIllion..then the explosion and everyone went crazy. So, I guess that means I am entiled to entry before everyone..LOL!...NOT!!!!! I AM entitled to entry because Universal and Hard Rock says I am . Just lucky, I guess.

I've decided not to go today, as all I am really interested in is FJ. At this point, I have little doubt that they want to give TMs another chance to experience the ride before they open it to the rest of us.

I hope we'll at least hear something about what package holders have been told regarding FJ etc today? Since their early hour access starts in little under an hour from now

Do we have any package holders that are there today? Or hotel guests?
