Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are at least within walking distance. Diagon alley isn't even in the same country.

Ummmm...yea they are. They're both in the UK.

But, now it's just the waiting game. It'll be interesting to see some people's reactions whenever the announcement happens. :)

Can I just point out something? Posting words in all capital letters is extremely rude and it is the equivelent of yelling in someone's face. I'm sure none of you would do that in person so please don't do it on here, thanks.

I know thats pointed at me. And dude, no offense, but grow up, I wasn't trying to be nasty to anyone, but you posting that is trying to be nasty and trying hold yourself in higher regard that typing in caps is a bad thing. Yelling in someone's face is yelling in someone's face. Typing in CAPS while I was ranting, as it was stated at the end of the post, is me trying to make a point.

If we're not allowed to TYPE IN CAPS than Brian you need to remove the feature from the boards.

I don't attack anyone, nor was it meant as an attack. It was simply me voicing my opinion on what I think will be happenning.

Now that that has been said. :focus:

THE EXPANSION WILL HAPPEN!

Hogwarts is in Scotland, Diagon Alley is in England. Technically, two different countries.

I dont want to get to deep into this subject but I cant wait to go in 2014.
I have been saying, even before the WWOHP was even done, that they were thinking of
expanding it. They just needed to know if it would be successful, and it is. Next month.... Thats enough said. :blank:

Still on the same island

I think this is the most heated debate I have yet to see on this board, well since the whole courtyard debate

Guys a theme park is there to give us an out of this world experience and be immersed in the world of Harry Potter. The rules of what is plausible and not plausible kind of, sort of get thrown out of the window.

And whatever UOC DOES go to JKR with the possibility of expanding will be going to her already experiencing and knowing the types of things she likes and doesn't like, so that way it makes it easier to just say that she loves it and they can move forward.

Its sort of like a girl you date, you know that she likes red flowers the most after you've given her all the other colors before. So you know to show up with red flowers, and not pink flowers because you know she likes red.

Really? Because it seems to me that, in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, no rules were thrown out the window. When you enter the WW, you enter the real (or at least completely realistic representation of) Hogsmeade. Everything is completely from-the-books plausible, and the majority of ideas posted on this thread are not. They would simply ruin the integrity of the island.

Actually the whole land follows this principle in that as muggles, we're not suppossed to be seeing any of it. Period, and within the land, yes there are certain things that follow a guideline, just like in JP, Spielberg gave them a blueprint to follow and they followed it, nothing there strays from the books or the movies.

But having Durmstrang and Beauxbaton students dancing for muggles is out of the norm, having Hogwarts students singing and beat-boxing is also out of the norm, and being able to have a wand choose one of us as well.

They mold things to fit what they want for their purpose.

Those are small details that merely enhance the experience. The Wizarding World is being shown to Muggles at last. It's not the same as being able to see Hogwarts from Diagon Alley which not even the greatest wizards can do, despite their magical ability.

Who is to say that they can't create a portal for muggles to walk from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade?

Maybe they also build a high enough wall, or simply restrict the sightlines so you won't be able to see Hogwarts castle. We don't know but many many things are possible especially in the realm of this industry.

The Room of Requirement unto itself is a perfect example of this. As far as anyone knows the Room is maybe or maybe not on castle grounds, it does not show up on the Marauder's Map and as far as we know it is only connected by a portal.

Actually, placing the path a certain way and strategically placing buildings, it IS possible to do it. Once again, Uni has some very great minds and creative forces behind them... So yes, we could place Diagon Alley. And authenticity can be stretched a bit guys. It's already the most authentic land, which is what makes it so wonderful. But there are some things you can do... When I explained the whole "no soda allowed in the Wizarding World" thing, she thought it was ridiculous. xD...

As said, they could make it work... A big building (Gringotts anyone?) here, a path change here, a transition of path here (at the end of the path, a floo powder thing that turns you into a shop/the entrance of Hogsmeade? Something along those lines along with a Hogwarts Express walkthrough) and boom, you can't see Hogwarts...

I would love for that to be feasible, but explain to me how people are going to be able to walk throgh green flames without seeing what's on the other side. Sincerely, I agree with TSSD that if Jo Rowling approves it it'll be ok, but I doubt she would approve something as cheesy as a floo portal with green mist.

But who said it had to be green flames? that could easily be a fog with green lights down a wide enough tunnel...thats the thing, you are restricting yourself to the currently KNOWN forms of transportation within that world. Who is to say there aren't other forms out there that they can create and still be plausible.

So you're saying they can come up with a completely new form of transportation, that no one has ever heard of, and Jo will approve? That's highly unlikely.

Well then Universal REALLY needs to get to work on the Floo Network on FJ :O Heck, you don't even spin! It's green mist and you don't know where your going! lol...

Really, all you'd need to do would be to make a room with a flame pattern painted around, a screen, and it would be a half crescent. It would spin to the other side, into Hogsmeade's entrance. Kind of like a much smaller version of the carousel of progress's ride system... And we could make a relatively D-Ticket attraction in the process of transporting guests into another area of the park... Plus that's just my idea of how they could do it, there are tons of other ways they could make a floo network attraction to transport guests. For those who can't go on spinning rides (or those who really want a "First Year" experience), they could do the Hogwart's Express train walk through, which would be as gentle as a real train... You'd exit at the static head of the train and go into Hogsmeade...

I agree with this... All transportation would be straight from the books. But there are so many forms of transportation that we could allow all guests to have a proper transition and enter Hogsmeade. And we now have a full circle way of including Diagon Alley...

Yes..and you know why? Because there is still tons and tons of history and future in the magical world, that just because are not covered in the books, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Yes we know about Portkeys, and the Floo Network, but maybe portals exist and they just never used them.

Well we also know about apparation, which is one of the most difficult processes. And also one of the least likely ones for the park, seeing as they'd have to immediately up the G-Forces and a wizard would have to be present and holding your arm...

Personally I see the Train and Floo Powder as the two most likely transitions (heck, hopefully we'd get both!)...

Another thing I just realized is that Uni would have to make so that you can't see Diagon Alley from FOTH and DC, if they were to make it.

I still don't think so. I admire your creativity, but that still won't feel like going through the Floo network. And I highly disagree with requiring people to get on a ride just to pass through to the next section of the park. There are people who can't ride or don't want to ride, and what if you needed to exit in a hurry? Yu jsut cannot require people to board a ride jsut to pass through the park.
