Damn! Going to IOA this weekend, and was stupidly optimistic that the Dragons would be dueling by now. Well, so much for optimism! I'll still ride Fire once and Ice once, but it just won't be the same. This is such a stupid problem to have.

They'll be back dueling eventually. They're not going to discontinue or change a commercial just because of a temporary change.

So if a ride featured in any commercial is down would you consider that misleading?
Sorry, thats just silly.

Unfortunately it does. I still think both are great coasters, but after going on the non-dueling versions several times I agree that the ride is missing that extra something that made it so much fun before.

Wonder how long they will wait, or just start handing out safety glasses.

If safety glasses, they'd have to be super tight and form fitting. This IS a looping coaster after all. Honestly, I don't see them bringing dueling back for a while. :(

I wear my sunglasses on all coasters with no prpblem, including Montu which is more intense than DC, only one I have ever been told to take them off if Rockit.
The safety glasses sold today mostly resemble sunglasses and are pretty snug so I don't see that being a issue at all.

I was thinking about this problem today at work, and why couldn't they put in a large mess net between the two coasters. Then, either using either LEDs or that fancy new projeciton technology, put some kind of fire effect and roar in. That way it would seem like the dragons are attacking each other and hide the net.

The idea of safety goggles makes no sense at all! UO is trying to prevent stuff from flying off/getting thrown by rider. Why would they give every rider an object that could fly off/be thrown?

Also, if the safety goggles had straps to keep them on so it'd be pretty darn impossible for them to fly off on their own, it'd be a dead giveaway who took their's off to chuck at the other dragon once the ride is over and their pair isn't on their face.

Unfortunately eyes weren't the only thing that were injured so safety glasses would just be a piece of the puzzle. Plus that's just ridiculous IMO.

Maybe onride cameras would pretty much stop anyone planning on tossing anything from the trains.

I can't believe we are having a legitimate discussion about safety glasses....it won't happen. There is your answer.

Yeah, glasses are never going to happen. Inefficient, expensive, and time consuming. I can see a net going up, though.
