I don't think we'll be getting an announcement any time remotely close.

We'll get a SS44/Project 609 announcement before we get Potter.

For those of you that may be new here or missed some posts, I am reposting a 3D render of the new buildings and streets of Diagon that are to come. This cgi is based on outlines that were mistakenly posted by the Florida Management District. Note that this is flat topped only because I cannot know the kind of slanted roofs each facade will have. The left of center street is Diagon Alley which leads to Gringotts which connects to the show building (light blue). Far left top is the train station building. Use a bit of imagination and you will see it.

Simply a fantastic job!

And like I said before I don't think we will get an announcement until fall2013

I'm guessing it's a themed secondary entrance for the land. Maybe Knockturn Alley or something.

Much of the heights was me guessing. As the lower right area was not closed like a building... just walls, I lowered them to 8' because the shape reminded me of the DC baby carriage area which is also walls. All height differences are choices I made based on imagination and knowledge of previous efforts.

My guess it is a sight line wall for backstage access

It is just an extrusion into 3D of ground outlines. I put in the arch etc. So don't get too hooked on wild details. But we do know that JKR wants things uncompromisingly authentic. Look at the queue construction for Ollivanders 22 months later. Look at the Ollivanders capacity today. Horror shows both. Bottom line is it makes gobs of money, and designers have to eat what she serves them.

Any idea Teebs on the overall sq footage of the show building for Gringotts. Is it going to be there largest show building?

There is no easy delineation of dimension on the WD drawings. So, as you asked, I took the mummy building and overlaid it on Amity. Fits just like the drawings surprisingly enough! Square footage and height of mummy probably equals the new show building pretty closely. I will let you all judge.

Can you overlay this on the current plot?

BTW, longer term members here... note the numbers looking at the USF forum now. So reminds me of the IOA forum 3 years ago. It was close to 90 at one time this past Saturday. Happy times... thwack!

I wonder if that single wall will be a barrier for those waiting to enter. If there is one thing Universal learned its that the area will be popular and shut down due to occupancy. I mean it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a somewhat secluded area to hold people before they enter. It would work so much better than using the Jurassic Park Discovery Center on the other side of a zone.
