I dunno ... either brains or a history of watching TDO misrun WDW for the last dozen plus years.

Another SoFloridian I see. Had no idea that so many folks were locals to me and semi-locals to O-Town.

Well, in this case, I'm grateful for Disney's blundering. If I have to choose between the 2, RSR over Avatar at DAK any day. Neither are the solution though.

Carsland not coming, guys. Not like in Anaheim. LMA is definitely leaving and MAJOR work will be done, this will be a DCA-like Extreme Makeover only not nearly as extreme or as pricey.

RSRs may well come. I was told this week that it is more likely to be running at the Studios in place of the blue alien sex kittens at DAK.

very interesting, thanks for the update! it's a shame though blue sex kittens were such a great thematic fit for AK.. now here's hoping they will do something more orignial with the space.

Carsland not coming, guys. Not like in Anaheim. LMA is definitely leaving and MAJOR work will be done, this will be a DCA-like Extreme Makeover only not nearly as extreme or as pricey.

Thanks for the update, Spirit. Even if it receives 750 mill-1 bill instead of DCA's 1.5 billion, the money will be well spent at DHS, much more so than on Avatar. And I'm glad the plan sounds more ambitious than just plopping down Cars and calling it a day.

Now, I have to ask, since I've been reading you over at Magic, you've been saying TDO/Burbank is worried about WDW performance. Is EPCOT being looked at as well for a few refurbs/additions? Because personally I think the only thing keeping EPCOT above DAK and maybe even DHS are events like Food and Wine. I mean, Disney HAS to realize that the park is hurting along with DHS.

I can see La Nouba leaving. Show is 14 years old, no updates. Blue Man was around for under 5 years before the show was totally re done.

I don't see a 3rd park at DLR being a good idea at the moment. DL needs work.

Glow with the Show is not going anywhere. Infact it's coming to WDW. Why else would DL expand it to Fantasmic? Also wonder if there are any other nighttime shows in DHS that have lots of lights GwtS could work with.... hmmm...

That's actually a good thing. I have to imagine the big push is original ideas, to keep both parks as unique as possible to draw the most visitors year-over-year.

The very early whispers as far as theme park rights to Middle Earth (if any) all point to the rights landing at Uni rather than Disney given Warner Bros' preexisting working relationship with Uni because of Harry Potter.

Nope. The Tolkien estate HATES the idea of a theme park land, apparently.

Don't hold your breath seeing LOTR show up at any park in the near future.

And Spirit says major DHS work is a done deal.

I've been living in orlando for about two years now, and my constant trips to universal sparked my interest. That and the insane speed they tore down SS44.

I grew up with a love for theme parks, particularly Disney. My intense passion for the industry and my desire to work in it stemmed from some life-changing trips to UOR back in '09. If it weren't for this location, I would have never had the chance.

Tim of WDW Fan Boys is saying that Carsland has been officially green lit. Not sure of his sources or if he has any. Just figured I'd mention it though.
