I agree. I think that if he does end up being right, he was premature or just took a guess.

With all the factors against carsland coming to WDW I'm not believing it. This may be trivial but why would they port a drink to new fantasyland that would end up in wdw in a few years.

Yea. For me the timing makes sense, if it is true. I figured they'd want to have it on the books at the beginning of the fiscal year considering it doesn't look like Avatar is close to getting off the ground.

But this definitely just seems like a guess.

Trust me, that has never gone through anyone's mind. MK Food and Beverage made that decision, not anyone that's making a big decision like this.

Personally, I think part of Cars Land is basically a guarantee for the park. Whether it's just RSR, a shop, and a restaurant or the whole land is the question.

So with Cars Land getting the "green light" what does that mean for a Monsters Inc. ride in that park?

Well, I still think it's jumping the gun saying Cars Land has the go ahead.

But even then, the two don't have a bearing on each other. The recent plans have always centered around some sort of Cars component. The Monsters Coaster is a different part of the plan. I still think the chances are good we see it.

It makes sense, especially with the uncertainty of Avatar. I'm just concern on how much focus they will have on this park since much of it now looks to be on new resorts, cruises, and international theme parks.

I just read an article on Orlando Informer that says Cars Land is exclusive to DCA until 2017. Is that legitimate?

Disney owns that IP. In what universe would what OI said make sense.

Yeah it didn't make sense to me. I can understand ride systems, but not your own properties. WDW really needs this or something very significant.

ok i have really strong feelings about what should happen here, only because there are so many better ways to make the experience better and instead people just want a million rides added when that isn't necessarily what is needed. yes, it should be made into a park about the thrills and making your day exciting, but i don't think putting in dark rides and coasters in places where they aren't needed is a smart idea.

what i think should happen:

Pixar Place expansion to
Radiator Springs Racers
le Chef Ratatouille
Monsters Inc Dark Ride [from California]
Crush's Coaster [from Paris]
An Incredibles Adventure (3D/4D show)
Buy N Large Cafeteria Snack Stop
A Bug's Life Set Play Area
Pixar Meet and Greet

Animation Courtyard Addition/Changes
The World of Disney - a breakthrough ride experience that mixes calssic dark ride, 360 degree view, and 3D screening in order to immerse you into the worlds of your favorite Disney movies.

create a new area of the park designed for Sci-Fi movies, which would include Star Wars and possibly a bulk for Tron and some minor other sci-fi ish movies.

make the whole area with LMA and Muppetts all about actual studio backlot stuff so
Muppet Vision 3D
Lights Motors Action
Studio Backlot Tour II
maybe a Madam Tussaud's Experience where you get to see your favorite Disney characters in person in standing wax figures

take out American Idol and replace it with a WIPEOUT obstacle course interactive experience

make Fantasmic better, modernize it. add more contemporary movies to the Dancing bubble scene, change the Pocahontas scene to Pirates of the Caribbean AWE or something, idk just update Fantasmic

change the Great Movie Ride to, instead of going through MGM movies, go through a history of breakthroughs in film.

I am hearing that a full Carsland has been greenlit and put on an aggressive construction timeline. Apparently they want it "OPEN" for June 2015. So look for construction to start right after the first of the year.

Mater's isn't terrible. It's a lot of fun from all reports.

I doubt Luigi's would be cloned. Maybe it'll be replaced with something else.

I said a few pages back that the only smart move Disney could make if they still want to have Luigi to be an attraction is to forget the flying tire ride system in favor of the trackless ride system.

When my friend said "full" Carsland. I am sure he was simply meaning Radiator Springs & RSR, as opposed to the stripped down RSR only thing TDO wanted. As far as if Luigi's will make the cut. Don't know.

Oh, and I did find out one interesting side note. The same rock sculptor that did the Hogwarts rock work did the Cadillac Range.

If this is going to be open by 2015, Orlando will be simply bonkers with construction. Man it's gonna be a few sweet years for contractors.
