BTW, I know there was some questions as to whether everyone that wants to gets to meet Belle. Well there are two things. Whoever does not get a part that really wants a part is given a prop at the end of the giving out props section. Those people are involved in the show during one part. They also get pictures with Belle at the end. If you don't want to be involved in the show, at the end they come around and ask each child who was not in the show if they would like to meet Belle. So everyone that wants to meet Belle and get a picture with her can. They also give you a photopass at the end and it has all the pictures on it from the entire show. So if your child is in the show you get pictures of them throughout the show and at the end for the final pictures. For young kids too scared the parents can go with and get pictures with them holding their LO.

Disney is not stupid and they want to make sure every child that wants a photo gets one, because guess what? Many parents will buy those photos later.

I'm heading up there around Sunday. This will be my mom and my bro's first time seeing New Fantasyland. I'm not sure how excited my bro is about this, but my mom seems pretty psyched. I've already told her that the only thing to really do there is The Little Mermaid ride, and that it is essentially the Nemo ride at EPCOT except themed to Mermaid. Now, I do LOVE Mermaid....the queue is just fantastic and the ride is short and fun (LOVE the going underwater effect). Hope they have everything back up and running when I get there.

When you see UO throw up an E-ticket, and a new land in 10 months, it puts this project to shame. UO has proven that it doesn't have to take this long.

Is it shameful that UO is taking two and a half years to open the wizarding world expansion? I mean we've been down the road of why Transformers isn't a fair comparison, so I'm not going to rehash that, you can read back about my feelings on that. I'm going to take a different angle since this is still being pushed and ask why are you not mad at Universal for their shameful expansion speed of 2 and a half years. If transformers could get it done in 10 months (as a clone) then this all new content and entire land should also be done in 10 months.

IzzyB had it right, the shameful part is not opening it all at once but advertising it as open.

OK, just because you used my name I am going to respond and say I don't agree with your statement about phase 2. Phase 2 is comparable to the entire FLE, not one building. So if we are going to make comparisons we should keep them somewhat relative. One attraction to another attraction is comparable. An entire land and new attraction in another land is not comparable to a building.

That is exactly my point. You can't compare transformers to FLE. People get around that by comparing it to a building in FLE, but by the same extension I could say Gringot's isn't open yet and Transformers is.

Rather I think the real issue is they opened part of it without all of it (a mistake potter obviously will not make)

But I do think you can make a slight comparison to TF and 7DMT. Not completely, because I would not expect 7DMT to be completed in 10 months. The outside of the ride is more detailed than TF. TF is a square building. But in reality 7DMT shouldn't take almost 2 years more than TF, it is not that much harder to build. You can also compare FLE to Phase 2 and from ground breaking to opening Uni is going to beat them out in every category. Both length of time and how detailed everything is. Even number of things to do and shops. So the comparison you can make still shows how painfully slow Disney is.

But 7DMT is part of FLE. It would be like comparing Transformers to Gringot's.

And in the end my only point is that the transformers timeline isn't a reasonable expectation. I agree it's taking to long, I agree it should have been opened as one piece, not having people walk into the "Now Open" land past the part of it still under construction.

The FLE was announced in Sept. 2009. and will fully be completed in 2014. That is a 5 year build out (with ZERO E-Ticket attractions included). Potter 2.0 started construction in Jan. 2012 and will be complete in June 2014. That is a 2.5 year build out that includes 2, I repeat, 2 Mega E-Ticket attractions.

But I do agree that a direct comparison of any other construction project to Transformers is disingenuous. Unless you simply want to compare the will to spend money to "Get 'r Done". Universal chose to spend the cash for a 24/7 construction crew. Where as Disney chose NOT to spend the money in a timely fashion and intentionally stretched out the timeline to spread out the CapEx over as many fiscal years as possible.

One company chose to build an attraction literally "as fast as possible". The other chose to build theirs as slow as possible to spread the costs out as much as possible.

That line right there is all I've been trying to say about the comparison.

Aside from that I think we all can agree the time schedule is way to slow.

2 E tickets? Obviously gringots is an E ticket but I wouldn't call hogwarts express an E ticket as such. If it is then surely a ride so popular and busy as dumbo would be an E ticket?

Well I would not say Dumbo and HE are on the same ticket. HE is more than a simple train, with visual and special effects. Dumbo is a kiddy spinner flat-ride.

I can understand People's disappointment at Disney for the speed of the 7dmt but some just seem to want to Disney bash where ever possible. The fantasy land expansion is aimed at kids, hence the title of it. I'm pretty sure most kids are thrilled with the additions. Now Disney just needs to step up and expand/refurb the rest of the lands.

Hogwarts Express will very much be an E-ticket attraction, and no, not because it will be popular, but because if what the ride will consist of. Saying Dumbo should be an E-ticket cause it is popular and busy is just silly. :)

Hogwarts Express also serves the very important purpose of getting guests from Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios.

Ummm...No.

I don't think you understand what the Hogwarts Express will be.

You people do realize that the difference is that HP 2.0 hasn't been announced, right? It would be like opening Wizarding World without FJ being done and there being construction walls everywhere.

I love to Disney bash...but only the Disney of Orlando from the past decade. I love what the company has done in Japan, Hong Kong, and Anaheim. I have nothing negative to say about what they're doing elsewhere... It's here in central Florida where their cheapness, foolish decisions in spending, and politics ruin what should be. When they refuse to build an E-ticket in their resort's flagship park for over 20+ years, they leave empty pavilions lying around Future World in Epcot, when restaurants are more important than new attractions, when two of their parks are basically half day parks and yet for a 1 day ticket you still have to pay $95 just like the other two better parks...when meet and greets replace classic rides, and when they can blow nearly $2 billion on this next gen garbage... That is the Disney that upsets me and deserves the bashing.
