I disagree. Water features can help liven up an area and inject life. Even though I do feel Universal could benefit from a water ride, water features are pretty scarce at the park and I feel should be a part of any future additons. I can only think of 3 that exist in the park (Lagoon, Fountain, and Curious George Bucket Dump).

They let the fire hydrant on Delancey Street go off on occasion as well.

I live and breathe the Florida heat most days and I almost NEVER find myself saying "I would LOVE more water rides/features." Its a waste of truly important space that works for about half the year and the other half is devoid of guests because its frigid, not to mention whats inside that water.

Keep the water to the water parks.

I completely agree...I would much rather cool off in air conditioning (which nearly every Universal ride provides) than water. I can cool off in The Mummy just as well as I can on Dudley Do Right, and on the Mummy my clothes dont become ten times heavier, the stuff in my pockets doesnt get ruined, and my feet dont stink later. Water rides are a pain and I hate that JPRA is such a good ride that I can only enjoy if I wanna risk the water. I dont want anymore nifty rides that Im gonna miss out on for half the year.

Yes, but water rides and water features are 2 different things.

I just said SpongeBob would make a great water ride - maybe a Splash Battle attraction? They could even turn off certain water effects when it's cold out. Either way, I think the park could use some sort of water-based ride - maybe like Jungle Cruise or POTC? I definitely don't want one that gets you completely soaked when there's 3 in IOA that do a fine job of that  I definitely think a family-friendly slow-moving boat ride would add some variety to USO

If we're talking ponds and fountains and aesthetic stuff then yeah Im all for that. But being completely drenched in a theme park all day is not fun lol

I actually don't like getting drenched myself, though I don't mind getting a little wet on some rides, especially in the summer.

E.T. needs to remain the POTC/HM of USF since it's the one major ride at the moment that basically anyone can ride

Did you really just compare ET to Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion?

I get that ET is really nostalgic and is a ride that everyone can ride that has no screens but it would be heresy to have it in a Disney park. Honestly looking at ET at face value it kinda sucks.

That being said, I love it and dont want it to leave just because of nostalgia but its such a cringeworthy ride, and one that really needs an update at the very least. But we lost Kong, we lost BttF, and we lost Jaws, so I dont think ET is untouchable. I think as much as it would be missed, a similar dark ride experience in its place would be a very good thing.

I love it, but its a mess and I feel bad for first-time visitors who wait half an hour for it (they dont even have nostalgia lol).

It's better than Peter Pan IMO - AAs, 80s charm, and that forest queue>>>>>>cardboard cutouts and 90 minute lines

People wait 90 minutes for Peter Pan and that ride doesn't have sets close to ET. With some love, it can stay just where it is. I compared it to POTC/HM because it's a large scale family dark ride that USF doesn't have. If they closed it down for more than 3-4 months, it would hurt the park as a whole because it's a nice, peaceful ride everyone can do.

And Toy Story Midway Mania is any better? That ride should be heresy to put in a Disney park especially when MIB was made 8 years before and it's 100 times better  The Great Movie Ride and Spaceship Earth are looking pretty rough too, so ET isn't any worse than most of Disney's older dark rides. I've never actually been on POTC or HM so I can't say anything about them (I've been wanting to ride them forever!! as a die-hard dark ride fan I find it sad I haven't done them, Little Mermaid, Nemo or Journey Into Imagination even though people say it's awful nowadays)

Animal Actors, Fievel and Barney all need to go before ET IMO

A water play area is a necessity in any KidsZone redo. The kids love Curious George, especially on summer days, and if it's going to be replaced, it should be replaced with another water area. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I think Ice Age would be the perfect theme for a new water play area.

Ice Age would be an interesting theme, but I don't see Universal going after 20th Century Fox for anymore of their properties, as it seems that they're just going to stick with putting whatever Illumination does into the parks when it comes to animated film properties.

I hope ET stays, too. But IMO Pirates and Haunted Mansion are in a totally different league.

What I think Universal needs more than anything is something that comes close to Pirates and/or Haunted Mansion.

They did.

It was called Kongfrontation.

But currently now, yes, they do.

I love Pirates and Haunted Mansion but I would take Forbidden Journey and Spider Man over all the Disney dark rides combined.

That's why you wait to do the water rides last. So you can have fun on them and not be uncomfortable all day. Or if you want to do the water rides during the day just bring a spare of clothes. Anyways even though I prefer dark rides and coasters over water rides. I always seem to have the most fun on Dudley and Popeye over almost any ride most of the time.

I assume you are not a child. Yes, adults don't often choose to go on a water ride to cool off. I have never went on JPRA or Popeye because I was hot and wanted to cool off. I too would rather AC. Children are different. Children see sprinklers and run in almost on impulse. It's KidZone, the majority of the things here aren't being made for you.

My kids get pissed off when theyre wet too
Maybe its just a family thing

But I dont think water rides are directed mainly at kids...I think its for tourists who either can change (hotel room) or just come in their ratty clothes and bathing suits anyway, with all their valuables in a hotel somewhere. Theyre also usually the ones who find the heat most unbearable.

I want whatever some of you are smoking.

ET, as Tyler put it, sucks at face value. If some of you who are calling me out and saying I don't have a say would only read one of my original opinions, I said if it gets the desired refurb I'll give it a shot. But as it stands now, compare it to universal standards today, nostalgia or not, it's a waste of space.
