Would anyone care to expand on the exact effect at the couch photo location? What's the gag, other than the couch replica?

It's a photo OP and it is included w/ the Star Card packages (or whatever they call their photo packages)! It's basically a chance to get a photo inside the Simpson's living room, the have scenes they can add, for instance, we were asked to look scared and they add in a water with a shark jumping out to attack us.

In a way, it is like the photo OP in the ET gift shop, just more graphics that can be edited in.

I played once a while back and I believe they let me pick the prize. This was over in Toon Lagoon.

Best. Land. Ever.

Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but Springfield is easily my favorite area in USF right now. love just being able to hang out, get some GREAT food, and some amazing specialty beverages. And everyone seemed to love the area.

Kang and Kodos -
Best. Spinner. Ever. And this time I'm serious. The hilarious ride narration and spiels, and the fun interactivity really make it a "fun for all ages" kind of ride.

Krusty Burger - Sloppy, but delicious. Loved both of the sauces, the frash backed bun, and those fries are awesome.

Chicken and Waffles Sandwich - Great mix of flavors here. From the savory chicken to the sweet waffles and mayo, it really is great. The tater tots are kind of plain when compared to the awesome curly fries though.

Duff Beer - Way better than I expected and way better than the Hog's Head Brew in WWoHP. I had a few over the weekend. Easily drinkable, good taste, and smooth finish. Really impressed.

Flaming Moe - I honestly really liked it, but had some problems with it. First, it seriously needs to be bigger. Second, they need to be able to give refills for it. But other than that I thought it was a really fun thing, and tasted really great.

Buzz Cola - The only thing I didn't completely love, but I'm also not a diet soda drinker. I thought it was good, but not great.

Overall atmosphere - Overall, with the effects, music, theming, and food, the overall experience is a complete win for the park. We finally have a big, hang-out area in USF, and that is a very good thing.

This is the major reason I love this area..it is great to just sit back and chill in Moes or by the Duff Brewery..my other favorite place was the Starbucks (but I can hang in one of those anyday)...If Universal keeps pumping out themes lands like this one, I am going to be in debt first of all, but secondly it is going to turn the resort into a more full experience.

I as well love the atmosphere of Springfield and am really Impressed with how much life it brought that area of the park. The only thing that bums me out is knowing that Universal isn't going to at least add some new additions in the future. I mean the opportunity to have a dark ride for this franchise was so AMAZING. I mean the Simpsons universe is HUGE and the colorful characters in that very world are endless. I can only Imagine a Mystic Manor Simpsons type ride! I would pay to see that alone. It would probably end up being literally the best and most entertaining dark ride EVER. There are so many episodes/settings/storylines that are so recognizable in this franchise it's Insane! The Power Pant needs to be somehow represented also. Anyways I'm in no way complaining, because what they have done with Springfield is pretty damn great. I just think it's like how "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" is for me. Once you bring that world to life it's hard not to want to see more of it brought to life!

Unless they bring it out during the day, no. I haven't seen it at HHN at all.

I like the expansion a lot but I do not enjoy the ride too much. I liked it at first, but now any time I do it I tend to regret it. The ride is cool but to me it's not really a Simpsons ride until the end.

It made me kind of sad when I read that the ride at first was going to be about going to visit the nuclear plant, (instead of Krustyland) Because that's what I expected at first.

I don't know, I like the characters but the Krustyland itself doesn't do anything for me. I get the jokes to other parks and other rides, but it's just not really that funny to me. If anything it annoys me a little because I dont like some of the rides they make fun of.
The ride was cool the first couple of times I did it but now it is not enjoyable for me at all. I used to do it last year during HHN because the lines for everything else were too long, but I would regret doing it afterwards. Now I just skip it.

So yeah, I definitely wish they had a second ride that was actually about Springfield and the Simpsons instead of this made up theme park. I agree, I would love that, I know we see Springfield in the other ride,
But It would be cool to have another ride actually take place in Springfield. (Or at least a 3D movie, I would love a 3D show like Shrek but with the Simpsons)
I know they won't make any other rides, but I at least wish they did something like Shrek 4-D

Yes damn it! Between artwork issues not being signed off by Groening as well as some tech issues this is the lame ass replacement. I actually like it but considering what could of been I'm not happy!

Not gonna lie, I think the couch gag is far superior to the Simpson-ize me deal. There are apps out there that already do it, anyway.

Hmmm, I'm curious to see what the 'new' car will look like. I thought the original one looked pretty awesome. Well, it's good to hear they (Universal Creative, Groening?) are perfectionists.

My daughter is going to love the photo up there now when we take her up there (didn't take her to HHN). I guess it doesn't hurt when you do not know what could have been. We had fun with the photo up though. Here is a sample...sorry about the cheap edit...just not sure I'm ready for the interwebs
